NCAA Penalizes Syracuse
I wasn't sure where this should go. Since there was another post on the main board about Slingbox, I posted it here.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Nice move ACC, bringing 'Cuse on board.

That's a serious loss...kills any chance at gathering significant proactive depth, unless of course they circumvent it all with "academic" scholarships, which we all know will magically happen.

Probably more ACC viewers to see the train wreck...

This is the price of a national championship. Sometimes it just takes time for those pieces of s**t at the NCAA to figure it out. Ask both Cals...Calhoun and Calipari.

Honestly if Syracuse got hit like that, you could argue UNC should get the death penalty as it seems to be much bigger deal, went on longer and impacted many more athletes. I do think Syracuse got appropriate sanctions, so I am curious to see what happens to UNC if/when they are finally punished. It must be much more substantial IMO.

RE: NCAA Penalizes Syracuse
Question: if UNC were to receive the death penalty after this, how would that affect the relationship between the P5 and the NCAA? Would the other schools see it as the swift hand of justice, or sympathize with the Tar Heels and feel threatened themselves?

I know the ACC is our dream conference, but they have a lot of schools that are well know cheaters: Miami, Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC, NC State and now Syracuse.

I'm betting there will be an appeal and a massive reduction in penalties.

Don't forget - UC players used the assistant coach's phone to call home in the late 90's. Death Penalty!

Unless I'm mistaken, it looks like the Gerry McNamara miracle three pointer win against UC in the Big 2006 Big East tournament is now vacated. There's some poetic justice.

RE: NCAA Penalizes Syracuse
Man, there is has been some ugly, slimy stuff coming to the surface lately in college bball and alot of it has been coming from the blue bloods SU, UNC, KU (Cliff Alexander), the Duke Soulamoun (can't spell his name) incident, the UL Chris Jones incident. It has to be a matter of time before the slime ball 125 miles south on I-75 gets busted. The only question is will the NCAA have the guts to take them down? It seems like they would have to take ESPiN down with them as they basically own that channel now days.

Does that mean, with one less loss, we make it into the 2006 tournament?

Looks like the self-imposed post season ban didn't cut it.

I don't mind competitive coaches, but he's flat out arrogant. Good.

Yep, there should be a NCAA tournament banner hanging next to the 1992 NCAA runner up banner
