There is not a team in the conference that could have beaten them last night. But, I determine whether this season was a win or loss based on the conference tourney.

I would say being in first and getting swept by Troy is more embarrassing and shows you there isn't much difference between first and last in this league, how did that UALR game go? It's all about the tourney

I knew we were going to lose last night. We started to get good press, and then Steak on the Front Row on 680 the Fan said the city needs to rally around GSU yesterday. He said... They are playing their best ball, and they are going to win that tourney in Louisiana. When he said that... I knew we would lose. Any time this team gets any momentum in the press... it disappoints. Damn. Damn. Damn. Anyway. Well done UALR.

We played incredibly well. And it's not like we caught you on a bad night. You guys hit 21 for 21 from the foul line, 48% from the field, and Harrow and Hunter combined for 43 points. I guess you did not shoot well behind the arc.

I empathize with you on the "press" situation. You have a ton more competition than we do, but the razorbacks totally dominate this state and the city of Little Rock. We get minimal coverage, but like you, we seem to "blow it" whenever we are in a situation that might allow us to get some good press.

You're right, our top players performed well, and the offense was working for the most part (threes aside). It seems like that came at the cost of decent defense, though, and our bench was practically nonexistent.

And the press thing...yeah, we need one of these to work out sometime where we're expected to shine and we actually do. At least we finally managed to win a televised game.

Getting swept by the first place team is not nearly as entertaining as getting swept by the the last place team... Could you imagine? No really, can you imagine it?

So, what does the South Alabama series classify as? Jags may not make the tournament at the rate they are going.

Agreed. The only 2 thing that matter in the FunBelt in basketball is who qualifies for the tourney and who wins the tourney.

Anything else is a meaningless asterisk.

I do still place value on the regular-season championship. I think there are a lot of college basketball fans and players who still do.

However, yes, the disappointment would be much greater to miss out on the tourney win. As I'm sure someone will enjoy pointing out, I've experienced that firsthand.

I am one of them. Regular season means a lot more than a short tournament. I wish they would send the reg season champ to the Dance.

If our league suck so bad we would send both, but if you don't send conf. tour u winner, what's the point of having a tourney?

In my post I clearly stated "at least you didn't get swept by the last place team." That was a jab at my team. Please find where I claimed we were great. You'll be looking for a while.

Well if we didn't suck as a league, the point would be to get a 2nd or possibly even 3rd team in... Just like in baseball
