UConn BOT adds a meeting for Feb. 25th
An insider on the "Boneyard" posted about a hour ago that a BOT meeting was recently scheduled for the 25th of this month. It wasn't planned supposedly. The poster claimed that it was just added to the school website that lists meetings. The next one wasn't going to be until March and that was routine with the schedule they have of a few per season. The thread was then deleted I guess as it's no longer listed. Any word on why? The same poster a couple weeks ago said that UConn was getting a new arena in hartford coming soon. Havnt seen anything about that since. What's going on in Storrs? Eventually they have to come to sense and drop football and join the Big East in basketball I think. Something smells fishy about it all. They have 2 arenas. Why build another?

Maybe a Big 12 invite is coming.

I won't touch on anything in your post, except with regards to the arena. Hartford recently spent $35m on upgrades to the XL Center (UConn's Second Home), but that was only to keep the arena servicable for a few years. There has been an ongoing studying, with a report due on the 19th, about its future. The options are (i) gutting it and updating, or (ii) building a new arena. I would put my money on new arena because the capital region economic development authority recently purchased a garage downtown that would be needed for a new arena (utilizing most of the current XL Center footprint). This would also follow a theme of new sports-centers in Hartford. Just this week they approved a $350m baseball field/development, and are in the process up upgrading a football stadium in the city to accommodate a NASL team.

Any talk of dropping football at UConn is silly. They don't want to be in the Big Catholic, they want to be in the Big 10 or ACC.

The football team will be fine at UConn, they just need time to fix a few things.

They have a meeting once a month. Looks fairly routine to me. The special meeting on Jan 30 followed a cancellation on the 28th, so I don't think that was very "special".

Big 10 - I just don't see the western members of the big 10 wanting uconn
ACC- I think its a good fit for both parties
Big 12- It could work, travel for uconn isn't much worse than their current conference.

Who is the insider?

There aren't any insiders on the Boneyard. The OP just makes this stuff up.

I'm not even sure the post ever existed. Just a really bizzarre post. If he was actually curious(i say that with caution) it would have made a lot more sense to post it on the Boneyard.

If Idaho and Eastern Michigan haven't dropped football, there's no way in hell UConn would.

RE: UConn BOT adds a meeting for Feb. 25th
Word on the street is that UConn BOT is going to pass a motion condemning the ACC's choice of Louisville over the Huskies.

People in the know say this amendment will use harsh language "condemning this heinous act of barbarianism".

Several members of the UConn BOT are threatening to go on a hunger strike unless Uconn athletics is acknowledged as P5 worthy by the ACC and Big 12.

My sources say that these same board members will seek acknowledgement by the ACC that UConn owns the New York City TV market.

In what amounts to a mea culpa by the Uconn BOT, this same amendment will admit that UConn's current football uniforms have set college football behind by a good decade.

This seems like the kind of response was fishing for. Mission accomplished.

My sources in New England indicate UCONN is downgrading their entire athletic department due to budget issues in Connecticut. I guess we need to find another school to pick on.

I've checked my wallet. My troll license is still valid. I guess I'll have to clean and load my troll hunting equipment and see if I can bag another one.

Husky season is over until Fall. No trolling of UConn fans is permitted on these premises prior to football season. By then maybe these issues will be moot.

Likely one with semesters that did not include July and that took the week of Thanksgiving off.

The schedule that was linked to has 9 meetings ... skipping May, which is the month before the Annual Budget Workshop in June, July, which is in the middle of the summer, and November, which would be around Thanksgiving.

But, as suggested, its a schedule that makes a February meeting a normal thing, so the OP is about confusing a change of meeting date with the scheduling of an February meeting when there is not normally a February meeting.
