I know a lot of you don't care to be playing FBS games, but Liberty has both VT and North TX on their 2016 schedule.

IMO between the two of us, I'd say they are preparing themselves much better than we are should an invite ever come.

Liberty OOC 2015: Delaware St., WVU, Montana, JMU

JMU OOC 2015: Morehead State, Lehigh, Liberty

Liberty OOC 2016: VT, North TX

JMU OOC 2016: Morehead State, CCSU

Who do you think is setting themselves up to attract more of the casual fans?

Frankly, learning this, makes me want to throw up. We sure had better do some damage this season and next.

Club seat contracts are up for renewal this year, right?

I have a lot of friends who will only show up to the FBS games. I don't like that, but that's just what it is. I get laughed at when I ask if people want to go see Morehead St.

When I take my age 85 father to a game, and I tell him it will be against St. Francis, he tells me he'll just wait around for either the W&M or RU game. Of course I already have someone else lined up for those.

Honestly, I'm riding the fence on whether to renew. I have four tickets and getting people to go to some of them can be a chore. I have no doubt, with better competition, It would be a non-issue.

Meanwhile, there was an article in the VA pilot this week about ODU selling out 41 straight games, having 14,000 season ticket holders, have a waiting list for season ticket holders, and have NC State at home this year...

Not any personal vendetta but my friends don't have any interest. That's why I gave up the season tickets. Everyone just has an excuse when the hear the opponent and don't feel like it's worth it. In a lot of cases, it's related to their kids and other family stuff so it's not like they wouldn't like to go but Morehead doesn't seem like a good excuse anymore.

sure is. I cant find the picture right now, but Duke Dog wants Morehead too.

My wife loves football and the Dukes, but sadly even she's not up for Morehead; which is disappointing since I'm always up for Morehead.

Honestly, it is what it is. I'll go to a few games and follow the team cloesly if they're doing well. I also can't say I blame some of my friends who aren't interested for one reason or another, poor schedule being a prime culprit.

Liberty kinda needs to schedule hard because the Big South is usually pretty weak. Remember, this past season was their first playoff appearance ever and was almost certainly boosted by beating FBS transition Appy and rolling with UNC for three quarters.

What if JMU played Montana, Youngstown St. and some other playoff level teams? Do you think folks would come to those games? What FCS programs move the needle as far as interest goes?

Probalby not, but if JMU played App State and UVA....

I wish JMU had not turned down the VA Tech game for 2016.

I've been told by JMU insiders that the Morehead arrangement is between Bourne, Yeager & Alger?

The fact that you had to ask this question is the problem. If we think real hard, we many be able to come up with one or two, maybe three. Appy, GSouth, ODU, oh darn, I just realized they all jumped to 1A conferences.

We have been promised Morehead that could lead to a game with one of the FUs if we manage the clock and don't blow it.

I have said the basketball schedule is just about as unattractive. Once ODU, George Mason, and VCU moved up in basketball and App St and GA Southern in football, my interest is not as strong.

Basketball and football support will continue to decline as our peer group plays better competition. We can only sit back with envy as VCU breaks into the top 25 and ODU plays NC State at home for football.

Five years ago, I was excited because I thought we would be in the position that ODU enjoys. It is more discouraging when I see that our ticket and donor prices have increased.
