I'm not sure how much more they can milk this series. I get it. Life in the zombie apocalypse is tough. And everyone you run into is crazy. The series has gone on too long. I'm ready for the endgame.

I get it but I think you are in the minority with that thinking. When that line of thinking becomes the majority you will see an end game. There is a ton of storyline ahead of them.

I am excited about this season and can't wait until Sunday night!

I'm with you. I'll probably give it 1 more season if things keep going like they are.

If anyone here reads the comics then you should know there is plenty more source material they have to work with and there is going to be a shakeup soon. Also AMC is not going to give up on its cash cow when The Walking Dead and the Talking Dead have some of the highest ratings in the 25 - 49 demographic. You might think they are milking it but if the show continues to be this popular it will still be on TV. They are also releasing a spinoff but who knows that might flop.

I'm hearing the spinoff is based in California and will be more about what happened to cause where we are at now. Sounds more like The Strain.

Yep. Having read the comics, I am way more excited about the next season or two than I am what is currently going on. I don't think the show will show any signs of slowing down for quite a while.

I know they do. I just don't have any faith in them to execute it well.

That episode was ****. Pure ****. Borderline ****** enough that I am pretty much done watching the ****. Compare that first episode to the first episode in the fall. In the fall, people got lined up over a trough to be slaughtered for food and Carol goes badass and saves the group. In this first episode Tyreese goes all ***** once again and dies for it.

Did you expect Tyrese to suddenly change and go all badass again. Everyone knew he was getting soft and he was going to die. At least he died early this half of the season so he doesn't get someone else killed.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
Who do you guys think will be the spinoff character that connects "Cobalt" (the rumored spinoff title) to "the walking dead"?
My guess would be Tyresse or Andrea. I am guessing the connecting character is probably dead on twd. Cobalt is supposed to be set before twd.

looking like it takes place in LA and not sure any of the current story lines have mentioned they came from the west coast at all?

Robert Kirkman is listed as a writer along with the guy from Sons of Anarchy. Although I've never watched a single episode of SOA I assume this might be a good spin-off based on body of work of some of the writers/directors.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
I saw an interview with Kirkman talking about the spinoff. He said it will be in the same universe as The Walking Dead, but it will give them an opportunity to build an new cast of characters and storylines apart from the comic inspired arc.

For example, we basically had to learn along with a comatose Rick the rules of the new world. How did society identify, respond and come to grasp with the new reality? How did society breakdown? I can see this series being set in more in the times of the societal breakdown as the Rick storyline basically bypassed all of that.

TS-19 explains about all enough that we need to know about the virus. Everyone is infected. Everyone reanimates without a brian or brain stem injury. I think it ruins it a bit if we know much more than that.

Good points. Everything I have heard says it takes place around LA.

Not many of the charactarers background has been explored in much detail. I can't recall any of them but Darryl establishing they had not been much outside of GA.

There are a bunch of gay characters in the comics. Honestly, who cares.

They hear children when they're in the car, and nothing but birds chirping as they're entering the gate. What gives?

They were making a reference to what Rick asked Michonne earlier in the episode? What did you hear outside of Woodbury? Silence. What did you hear outside of Terminus? Silence. The kids playing inside + extra noises are supposed to indicate that the place is actually safe and Rick can finally relax.
