Those are things he had no business speaking about. He shouldn't concern himself with things in the past like that, and especially shouldn't compare them to things today.

If you ever go into most grocery stores or CVS-type pharmacies, you would at least see his picture on the covers of the trash-magazines. They're right next to the checkout counters and even people who don't give a sh*t At All are stuck looking at the covers while they wait in line.
Then you have some of the serious media (NYTimes, for example) lauding Jenner for his "courage". Yes, really. So people who read NYT have at least heard about this.
In all honesty I didn't know any of this crap was happening to Jenner until just this week. And him with a Kardashian? Never heard about it until now. Magazine covers in Walmart? I only look at the ones with the pretty girls on them.

I'm not sure if there's anything he could've done about it. Apparently there was one car stopped in the middle of the road where it should not have been. Another car rear ended the first. Jenner's truck rear ended the second, propelled it into oncoming traffic where it was hit by a Hummer H2, killing the driver of the second car.
I guess that no matter what happens in front of you, you shouldn't rear end a car you are following, but he was not the cause of the initial accident.

Yeah, police need to determine why in the hades the car two cars ahead of Jenner was stopped in the middle of the damn road. If anyone is at fault, it's that person. Hopefully it wasn't a medical issue.

According to the news I had to hear about it (because I didn't have the remote close), they think he may have been texting and driving and forced the old lady into oncoming traffic due to not paying attention to the road. Plus texting and driving is against the law now.

It was probably lighting the cigarette up, not paying attention. If he goes to jail, I wonder if he'll go to the female or male facility. Ugh, what a nasty POS.

It's California - they probably have jails just for the undecideds or in betweens.

It could be that all four cars are at fault. It could be that only one of them is really at fault. I think they mentioned that they would pull the phone records of all parties. The actual evidence at this time seems very week to me (paparazzi photos that don't even show a phone, just a hand... and, from the reflection on his bumper, it looks like it was taken while he was stopped at a light).

Wait, so the car driven by the lady who was killed was trying to make an illegal turn across traffic?

Wonderful.
If Bruce Jenner goes to jail, the taxpayer probably pays to complete his "journey" to womanhood.
