From today's Daily Press, this was W&Ms largest margin of victory (30 points) in a conference game since they joined the CAA. Previous was 29 points.

RE: College of Charleston
We owed Charleston an embarrassing loss after what they did to us at their place last year. Let's just hope CoC doesn't respond to yesterday's beatdown the way Tribe did in 2013-2014.

The biggest takeaway I have from yesterday's game is that CofC never looked like they cared. From the opening tip, I thought they appeared completely indifferent. WM was 2 steps faster all game, and played aggressively for 40 minutes.

RE: College of Charleston
It was one of the easiest games to watch that I can remember. I never had the feeling that CofC could make a comeback after the 22-7 start.

The defense during the 6:53 scoring drought by the Cougars in the second half was excellent. It made me remember when the 2009-2010 team played the Matchup Zone so well that it held eight teams to less than 55 points. We played that defense so well that I actually felt sorry (occasionally) for the opposing teams, who just couldn't find an open shot. Last night's switching man to man and 3-2 Zone brought back that same feeling. As someone said earlier, solid defense makes winning easier.

This week will be a war of attrition for all the CAA teams. Hopefully, we can run out to some big leads and get a chance to rest some starters for decent periods of time.

One thing on Jack Whitman... he needs to look at the basket more. If he had recognizes when he had a smaller player switched onto him, there were at least two times he could have turned and had an easy basket or foul shots.

RE: College of Charleston
Big win today and on to CoC this Thursday. Our guys should be well-rested after sleepwalking through Harrisburg. Maybe we'll get Sean back. Who knows?

Anyhow, I can't help but remember how badly CoC humiliated us at their place last season but we've kicked their hindparts three times since then. I don't think we'll beat them by 30 again but I don't see how this game will be close. I can see us struggling just a bit offensively down there but not enough to keep CoC in it.

CoC 62

Looking forward to the team visiting Charleston. They owe us one and it will be good to see how we withstand it on the road. The extra day of rest should benefit us. The guys really looked good in H'burg and hope it continues.

Hoping Sean will be back. Whitman and Schalk have done a good job and gained valuable minutes, but we miss Sean. It would be good to see Sean begin to work his way back into the rotation and get stamina back.

Looking down their schedule, most or C of C's conference games have been very close. Their last 5 games have all been within 4 points or less -- this will be a tough game on the road (where the Tribe have had some problems). Hope Tony has them bring their 'A' game for this one.

This game worries me. It has all the characteristics of a classic trap game, away, expected to win, improving opponent, missing starter, between two higher profile opponents. ONE GAME AT A TIME! As Tony says, the process is important.

Is Sheldon definitely out?

I don't know anymore than you do. He was in street clothes and a boot Saturday, which is not encouraging. I hope he is not out, but whether he is or he isn't he's not likely to be at full speed in his first game back.

Haven't heard anything definitive, but the pregame before JMU (I think it was that game) reading between the lines on his comments I'm not expecting to see him any time soon.

He basically said.. "It's not serious... we don't think it's a season ending injury."

Which makes me think while it's not "serious" it's bad enough that he's going to miss a couple of weeks. At this point I'm just hoping we have him for the tourney.

Article in the Daily Press (2/3) by Fairbanks mentions that Sheldon is questionable this week.

RE: College of Charleston
The whole "streaming" thing and how to find it is rather frustrating to me at this point.

W&M Schedule has nothing listed for video streaming.

CoC Schedule has nothing listed for video streaming, just "MyTV" locally.

CAA.TV Has video streaming listed.

I don't understand why the schools wouldn't list streaming for ALL games that have video streaming, even away - but in particular ones that are streaming through CAA.TV. Just a bit annoying that I have to go 3 different places to figure it out.

There have been other games where it's not on caa.tv, but it's on our opponents website, etc.

All conference games are always streaming for free whether on CAAtv or on a school's website and it is very easy to find. Note the game is a Thursday and not a Wednesday game this week so don't try to watch the game today.

If you look at the press release that W&M issued for the game, it is listed there already.

The schedule page of tribeathletics always puts the streaming information out the day of the game.

Take a deep breath. Everything is going to be ok.

The problem is that it is not a simple "Main page" click. Tribe Athletics website should make it as simple as possible, probably with a big sign, to encourage any possible viewers to click. Ratings matter.

RE: College of Charleston
Interesting article in today's Daily Press by Dave Fairbank; "Look: Tribe On Top"

The last time W&M was in first place alone in the CAA was Jan 27, 1998 with a 6-1 record. The Tribe promptly lost its next two games [to UNCW and American] and fell out of first place. The Tribe ended the season tied for first place with UNCW [this was he only time W&M finished in first place in the CAA in regular season in 29 years]. Tribe was seeded #2 in the CAAT but lost in the first round.
