Recruiting/Signing Day Thread
With only a couple more days till signing day, I figure we would create a thread to follow the recruit rankings as they evolve and if possible would like to see a team rep post the name of each signee as they show up on the fax Wednesday morning. Good luck to all and I hope we all have good classes. Here are the live official team rankings.

That's pretty impressive. One thing to keep in mind though, is that the rankings lean heavily toward how many signees a team has. Personally I think the rankings should lean more toward the average quality (star ranking) of each player. Just my opinion. But no doubt a very good looking class for FAU. Congrats.

Like I said...very nice class shaping up for FAU. Of the two Florida schools in CUSA, I think FAU is grabbing the momentum and will be the force in Florida for CUSA for many years to come.

Well according to 247 we have .8001 avg player rating and you have .8065 so pretty close.
Add the fact you are coming off a 12-1 won a bowl in our stadium and like I said we went 3-9. I would call this a win for us.

Being in the backyard of the best recruiting hotbed in MURICA, you should always have one of the best recruiting classes in cusa. When we sell our players you will always play one game there a year. You can have mom and pops drive ten min a be there. (Hence why miami always pulled in a top recruiting class in its day)

RE: Recruiting/Signing Day Thread
Definitely have to give props to FAU.

But yeah, rivals has it all wrong the way they rank teams. The official ranking should be by average player ranking of the class and not by total "points" (however they come up with that). That kills the integrity of the ranking system.

The way it's figured now a class of 30 no, 1, and 2 stars is said to be "better" than a class of 10 4 and 5 star recruits. The system rewards teams for merely getting warm bodies and not the quality of recruits (though I realize quality of player is factored in).

I'm 35, fat, and out of shape. But rivals would give a class of 30 of me a better rating than a class of 12 Bo Jackson's in his prime.

It will be interesting to see how it finishes up. We still are waiting on a 4 star rb to announce his intentions on ESPN. We are one of the two finalists for him.

Temple

Name is TJ Simmons. I assume that if he comes here he will split carries this year with Devon and then take over full-time next year.

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/re...ons-132622

Why he would even consider Temple is beyond my understanding considering they are historically one of the worst (if not the worst) football programs in America.

3 star recruit Devonte Williams flips his commitment from Marshall to Indiana. Could be a sign that TJ Simmons will chose Marshall.

05-nono While I agree that FAU has done an excellent job recruiting this year (they may be the real #1 unfortunately), I disagree that FAU is grabbing the momentum. You guys are truly missing what Turner is doing (albeit not as good in recruiting as FAU). We just may have a better x's and o's coach. We will soon find out altogether. Unfortunately, our recruiting has taken a late hit recently with UF grabbing one commit and one lean. FAU took a very good OL from us, and we lost one to UM much earlier.

I'm very happy with the class FIU is putting together this year. Actually, I believe C-USA in general, is having a great recruiting year, based on paper recruits to this moment.

Wishing the best for every C-USA team tomorrow!

Go Panthers!

RE: Recruiting/Signing Day Thread
WKU's UAB transfers do not count in rankings but these guys should be able to help us on Defense or at least provide depth as a couple are former 3 stars...NCAA originally told us these UAB transfer did not count toward or numbers for 2015 but then they did a 360 and said they do count against our numbers, so we had to turn down 3 or 4 talented guys at the end...

Overall I am pleased with this class, we have a lot of unheralded Kentucky kids who are overlooked due to the states perception in football...So far though these kids from the state have worked out for us and have been major contributors....Also glad we are still pulling in guys from Georgia and Florida and now Tenn...A lot of times its more about coaching and development than a randomn star assigned to a player...That's why I usually take these class rankings with a grain of salt...A little different for the top 25 or so programs but for a lot of CUSA programs, we are pulling in similar talent, just a matter of what each school does with these guys once on campus...

Yeah, and I think that is the right strategy. The talent in the class is with the JuCo signees and we need players who can play now, especially on the OL and every position on defense.

The incoming freshmen have very little talent, at least on paper and film. But like I said, Southern Miss is a damn tough sell at this point. We have to start winning consistently before talented high school players will begin to consider us again.
