If anything he has defrauded the University and the ambassadors. His lack of coaching acumen was only masked by the elite talent he had at his disposal the last few years.

I love how this thread has evolved: lol.

One guard could change everything. But then the queens can't have their drama.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. This trainwreck isn't on Pastner in your mind because he doesn't have the right players on his roster? Whose responsibility is it to get the right players on the team?

Ellipses are perfectly acceptable punctuation marks. Your hatred for Pastner is the reason for your not appreciating them!

It's the coach's job to get the right players. All I said was this team is 1 really good guard from being a top 25 team. Guards we hoped would get it done, haven't done so yet. They have all been given ample opportunity so don't put all of it on the coaching staff.

Hiring a guru assistant isn’t going to make Josh change his coaching philosophy. I figured out years ago Josh is a small ball coach and to this day he still is. Every season he finds some reasoning to go small and I don’t see him changing, I see him doubling down on it.

As long as he’s here I see us continuing to struggle against weak teams, losing to decent teams, and getting blown out by good teams. We don’t need a guru assistant we need a good head coach.

If our guards suck so bad why are we continuing to play 3 of them at a time?

We are now having major problems because teams (once again) have figured out we cannot stop them from attacking the rim and getting the high percentage shot.

No 1 good guard is going to stop this and no 1 good guard is going to miraculously make us top 25.

It's fine to have a bench guru. The best coaches alive had them, it's not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength.

Hell in my business, I occasionally hire a very strong and experienced consultant to help with complex zoning questions. I'm damn good, but this guy has 25 years on me and I want to (a) learn from him to be even better and (b) concentrate on my strenghts to make my client's happy.

Same situation. We get better by surrounding ourselves with those that shore up our weaknesses. And it's no shame in having weaknesses. We ALL have weaknesses...

Here, as in, from the perspective that we speak on this board.....not in this particular post. This is a perspective that's not new. And some like to reiterate that the repetition of post towards our disdain of the product that we see on the court. .... my response is that most don't realize the constructive aspect that is utilized. ...as, we don't won't our team to do bad, nor do we wish that Pastner fails.....it's more that we mention certain aspects that obviously need tweaking to make an overall improvement that could yield a more favorable result for all!

It is adorable how so many that start with vile, nasty, incendiary comments concerning the coach...get tweaked over that...suddenly make a more eloquent expression that they are simply concerned that the program overall is not progressing.

Winners.
