ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
Dave Drew just reported this on twitter. Bad news for WMU fans, here's hoping CMU screws up the hire.

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
While the timing isn't ideal for CMU, I'm guessing their fans are rejoicing over this one.
2014 was his best chance and he probably sees the writing on the wall with his decent players now gone and consistently getting crushed in recruiting.

Damn. That's cold. Couple weeks before signing day. It was smart of him to get out in my opinion. CMU looks like fourth or fifth place next year to me. Maybe even getting surpassed by EMU.
Be interesting to see who they replace him with. Kind of sucks. As a Western fan, I kind of liked Enos being there.

Less than 2 weeks before signing day? Whoa nelly.
I'll kind of miss him there.

Not good for MAC West, CMU might find a real coach. Boy did he waste the talent, I've said before their talent took a back seat to no one in the MAC. The fact WMU beat them last year is a testament to better coaching.

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
Wow, who saw this coming?
I thought the one thing Enos did well was actually develop schemes for his players to be successful, and in most cases got the most out of them. Besides a couple 5th year transfers, he was getting D-II level talent and developing them into something that actually resembled a D-1 product on the field. On the flip side, he was a terrible recruiter, had zero personality, and seemed to consistently get out-coached and out-gameplanned. All in all, he was nothing more than a mediocre coach IMO.
This is a critical hire for CMU now with the rise of WMU's program, EMU's new hire (still TBD), and Toledo and NIU still staying steady. If they're smart, they'll hire a good recruiter to compete with the rest of the MAC West who is pretty much killing it on the recruiting trail.

You might be right on with this one. Tony has proven he can win everywhere he's been. IMO, this would be the perfect fit for him and perfect step up into Division 1.

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
Crazy that he leaves so close to signing day. Will their recruiting class hold together? How long is it going to take their administration to find a new coach? Are there any good coaches still available this late in the cycle?
The next few weeks will be interesting.

I like how this has become a thing.
I'm also intrigued by this idea that CMU is some kind of sleeping giant based on a previous administration hiring Brian Kelly (no brainer) and Butch Jones. In terms of location, facilities and support I don't think they are better situated than anyone else in the MAC west.

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
They should poach Rayshawn Wilborn NOW.
Won't matter who they get, they haven't recruited well in the last two yers and this year will be even worse particularly if a few of them leave with this announcement. As sleepy as Enos was, it will take players to turn it around.
Tough time to be searching for a coach. That alone sets them back another year.
If I didn't know better I'd say Enos's timing was a jab at CMU.

I was thinking the same.
Maybe another run at Logan Slaughter (Mendon kid) too. Who knows, he might give us a sniff now. Although we have plenty of incoming OL, it's still hard to pass up on good local talent.

They must have "some " decent recruits. I like the the length of their TE/OT 6'6 height. DT who committed in March and the GA db. Its open season on Chip meat.

Absolutely correct. Program has regressed right back to the Flynn/Debo era.
Whoever is taking this over is getting a rebuilding job. Pooper Rush had one shining moment in the Caribbean where a team had a huge lead and tried to sit back and run out the clock. He's a good QB, but he's not a one man wrecking crew. This program is not deep and lacks talent at many positions. Three years of lame recruiting is about to rear its head on the field. Enos saw what was coming and got the hell out before it all came tumbling down.

Logan Slaughter deserves CMU. He wouldn't have made the three deep here. It's Mendon HJ. A class D powerhouse until the run into Class B talent, i.e. Muskegon Catholic Central, and get run off the field.

Hope they don't hire Annese.
Mike Bajakian and Zach Azzanni from Butch's UT staff could be candidates.

It is pretty bad when I look at their class and think there is not much that can help us there. 90% of the class has 1 offer and that is Central. Most of those kids wont have a choice but to stay on board...

The next guy doesn't have to honor those commits. He can save them until next year if he wants, or he can cherry pick the ones he wants and try to get a few of his own.
