Came in as the 2nd best G5 football conference behind the MWC. American Athletic is 3rd, Mac 4th, and the Belch came in at 5th.

Sorry should have been more clear, individual teams where did they finish in CUSA final rankings?

Top 5 in CUSA per the computer rankings as cited in the article:

1. Marshall
2. La Tech
3. Rice
4. Western Kentucky
5. UTEP

Well, we just gravitated over here from a very similar thread on the AAC board, complete with Marshall posters and the usual Cusa suspects and characters chiming in. :)

They're similar but not quite the same.

The one over there is titled the AAC is #3

whereas

the one over here is titled CUSA is #2

COGS

Haha.....well played

Watching the AAC fans on here and their own board talk about these rankings has been comedy gold.

Id put this Marshall team up against the AACk first and second team, spot them 10 points and still think we would win by 14 or more.

There's no body on that list I don't WKU would not beat The way we finished the season. It's the first half of the season that screwed the computer rankings.

Its not crazy if you can back it up. Over the last 2 years this Marshall team is 23-5. I'll even spot the AACk 14 points if we play in Joan C Edwards Stadium. You do understand that Marshall in the last 5 years have had 3 #1 recruiting classes in the G5, 1 #2 class and 1 #3 class. After signing day I don't see that changing that much this year either.

There is not much if any difference in speed, size or strength between the MWC, CUSA or AACk.

Until the last game of the reg season with WKU, Marshall had not lost at home since Oct 2012.

He's right. That's just incredibly dumb. You wouldn't even be a 14 point favorite against Memphis, Cincy, ECU, or UCF. Don't become an insufferable fan because of a good year.

We was a 17 point fav against ECU in 13. And won by 31 and up 39 at one point. So you have no idea what you are talking about.

Marshall (8-3) at home against ECU (9-2) was a 3 point favorite in 2013 according to the internet. That's a long ways from 17 points.

Ok, I just want to make sure I understand you. Are you saying no one has ever heard of Temple,Cincinati,Memphis , or even Houston basketball ? Are you also saying that UCF,Cinci,Navy,or ECU have no football recognition. You might want to check the record books.

Temple- Known for Thug Coach John Chainey, Bad Bad Football and the only school kicked out of a BCS conference because of lack of attendance and on the field success, Also known for Puddin Pops Bill Cosby.

Houston- Known for Phi Slamma Jmma, by the way those who played in the Phi Slamma Jmma days are in their mid 50s now.

Cincy- Known for having the drunk of all coaches in Bob CHuggins, who is drinkin' it up in MorganHole now.

Memphis- Known for having 2 count them 2 FINAL 4s taken away because of ineligible players playing. And at least 1 coach knowing the player was ineligible.

ECU sucks at almost everything besides football and baseball every few years, but then again we know that they can even suck at that too.

UConn- Just crying like a baby because they got "stuck".

You need to check your fact bud. Swimming and diving is nationally ranked, as is track and field both indoors and out, Softball is good, baseball is top 50, WBB is doing fine, men's and women's golf are making national finals.07-coffee3

I'll give you that. I grew up in eastern NC so I'm pretty familiar with ECU athletics.

Folks need to come to grips with the fact that, at least so far, the AAC isn't the panecea some thought and CUSA isn't the doormat some thought. It's only been a couple of years so time will tell how it all turns out.
