I have but one regret
I've already made my travel plans for 2015 to see 8 games (traveling to USC and LaMonroe) if I thought I could get by with convincing my wife to add a 9th game, I'd come up next season.
Really was nice to travel to Mobile and have an opposing fan base to interact with that wasn't wanting to talk trash (the NIU kids, had no interaction with adults for some reason), act put out by someone speaking to them (Ball St) or act like I'm going to mug them or jack their car (Kent).
Those of you who traveled to Mobile created a great impression.
Your band was into as well, best time I've had watching two bands at halftime since I was at the BCS title game in New Orleans with LSU and some other school in Ohio.

stAte people were great. A rivalry may build in the next couple seasons when we see eachother again. But a friendly one between the schools fanbases will be the first as far as I am concerned. Good luck next season and we hope many can travel on up to see our stadium!

Question about your stadium there is a building that looks about as old as Buckingham Palace that you can see on TV is it old or was it built recently to fit campus architecture?

Our larimer was just renovated and used from August on. It doesnt look very old in my opinion, nor does it match the fortress rock around the rest of the stadium. But it was meant to blend in with our campus rock which resembles that on the new Larimer.

Is he maybe looking at U-Hall? Can't think of any building near the stadium that would fit the description he's given.

I had several opportunities to talk to maybe a half dozen or so different Arkansas State fans over the weekend and everyone of them was a class act and excellent representatives for their university. Thanks for dropping by the board and hope you can convince the wife to come up next fall.

If it featured a tower it is University Hall, visible to the north of the stadium. It was built during the 30s and is truly a stunning collegiate Gothic building.

Some arguments (points) for coming to Toledo:
1. Trip to the big city. Toledo would be the largest city in Arkansas. #67 vs. #118 Little Rock.
Side trips (UT plays Saturday night games at home)
2. Guys fishing weekend. Charter fishing on Lake Erie.
3. Kids/family weekend. The Toledo Zoo is one of the Top 10 in the U.S. (maybe top 5)
4. Wife romantic weekend. The Toledo Art Museum is also in the Top 10 in the country. It owns the center section of Monet's famous "Water Lilllies" painting.
5. History buff weekend. War 1812 Forts and battlefields in Maumee, OH and Monroe, MI.
6. Gambler's weekend. Hollywood Casino located on the Maumee River.

I'll bet you are referring to the pair of stone towers/blockhouses located at the two northern corners of the stadium. They are old (though younger than Buckingham Palace) and are part of the original stone wall that went all the way around the stadium.
"The Glass Bowl...had a humble beginning. Built by the Works Progress Administration in 1936, it was one of 65 projects undertaken by the WPA in Ohio that year.
Two stone towers, which still are in use today, were built on the north side and were used as locker rooms and at one point served as living accomodations for 12 players."

I agree with Terry, come see our beautiful university and our city. It will be time well spent and their is not a bad see in the glass bowl. Great trip to Mobile, thanks to UT Alumi. The city and the people of Mobile, were great.
