Almost every recruit in America would de-commit to go to Oregon. Its possible, but very few ever change their mind this late so I'm not really gonna worry about it until it happens.

oops.... a little slow. Too much good news today!!!

My hope is that he gets a chance to compete for the starting QB job but is willing to take the David Washington route if he doesn't get it. It may be the best way to get playing time and still have him as an emergency option as backup QB. May not be a bad model to have a qualified #3 QB who has the skills to get some playing time at WR/H-back. With his size and 4.7-4.8 speed it would be a shame to have him standing on the sideline with holding his helmet.

From all I have read about him he is one heck of an athlete. He is a very good basketball player as well. Feel blessed to have him as a Monarch.

Feels very good seeing good coaches make good decision for their kids when they pick ODU. So far 3 fer 3 in Bobby Bentley, Bobby Wilder and Chris Wilson.

From the VA Pilot... Wilson, the son of University of Southern California defensive line coach Chris Wilson, committed to ODU head coach Bobby Wilder this afternoon, he told recruiting services.

Wilson is expected to redshirt as a freshman, but will be given the chance to compete for playing time as well.

How does a kid with 3 stars only get offers from UT-Martin and Central Arkansas? Since he went JUCO and did not improve his position, can we maybe assume there is something not quite right here? Maybe his grades aren't great?

He's not a JUCO transfer.

As a coach’s son I am sure he has always had big aspirations as a football player. It sounds like him and his Dad talked this over and contemplated this commitment for several months.

It was nice to read a few of the comments about his recruitment from his father’s perspective. I’m sure this was not a decision that was taken lightly, especially considering the fact that his Dad is a coach at USC.

Oregon is in the Finals. He will not be offered by the Ducks.

I really see no negativity in this. Just shows the interest the coaches are building with our program all over the U.S.

Just curious where did you see this? Yeah most kids won't announce that but they'll do it anyway at least this kid is honest about it. I personally don't care where his interests align but once he commits and becomes a Monarch i wan't him to be a Monarch and give his 100 percent and make us proud.

He is a three-star recruit. He committed to ODU. Sounds like a win for the Monarchs to me.

Agree.....wholeheartedly.

We sometimes worry too much about the what if ..........."If I pour a glass of milk I hope I don't spill it. No worries if it happens we clean it up and move on.

I'm really happy with this commitment. One of the big worries was where QB production is going to come from, and although we may not have a definitive answer yet, it's really good to have options and the guys we're bringing in all seem to have a lot of potential. Can't wait to see Bently, Verhaegh, and Wilson compete for time next year.

I think this solidifies David Washington remaining at WR next season.
