Good hire. Was surprised that Luck was at WVU as long as he was after the move to the Big 12. Thought he would have been a great Big12 Commissioner. He certainly would have handled some of the issues better than Bowlsby did.

Figures. The NCAA found one of the biggest jack***es in America, who just so happens to have a healthy dose of moron, and made him the #2 guy. I should have seen that coming.

New AD will want his own coaches.05-stirthepot

Would Gee hire Tressel as a temporary AD?

Very interesting....he was on the CFP Committee....gotta think he has to leave now...also, what does it mean in the Big XII as a whole...

Oliver Luck doesn't frick around. That's the scary part. He's going to move really fast compared to what we're used to.

Hilarious. Could you imagine Gordon Gee, Jim Tressel, Bob Huggins, Dana Holgorsen, and Tom Brady on the same payroll? No shortage of personality in that group.

My early guess is that the new AD will either be the Rob Mullens (current Oregon AD) or the Whit Babcock (current Virginia Tech AD), with early money on Mullens.

Probably not much (and none taken). Mullens is a Morgantown guy. He was a top candidate when Luck was first hired (which is also before he became the AD at Oregon). When it looked like Luck was leaving for Texas earlier in the year, Mullens was openly campaigning for the job (he was already the Oregon AD at this point).

Unless anything changed in the interim, he is interested. Doesn't mean he'll take the job, but my thought would be that it's his to lose.

He will leave the CFP Committee and another Big 12 AD will take his place. Will be interesting to see who is selected.

An AP sportswriter posted this anecdote about Luck on Twitter.

And as a WVU alumnus he carries a healthy dislike of Syracuse. 05-stirthepot 03-nerner

neither mullens nor babcock would leave their current posts for WVU.
