Wow-Typical CH move thinking they are one of the big boys, but with their alumni base, couldn't even sell out the opener vs UTSA, which brought a decent number of fans. That SEC invite is almost there..............

I think the "announced" 23K they got in two of the last 3 games also doesn't help.

The KU hiring shows that they are focused on bringing Texas talent to Lawrence as the top priority. KU's talent is below par in the Big 12. Beaty is an amazing recruiter with really strong ties (esp in DFW area).

It will be interesting to see how it affects Bailiff's superior recruiting with Chad Morris at SMU and now Beaty at Kansas.

It will for sure. A great recruit decommitted after the blowout at La Tech. I think SMU is on his radar. Morris is more attractive option for a young athlete. Everything I read says that he relates well with players. Fast tempo offense. Should I say more. We ran draw plays on third and long against La Tech. We left our starters in so they could accumulate yards against their third stringers. No wonder the kid jumped ship.

Presumably Herndon, who's announced he's switching to SMU. And who's straight-up said that Morris was the primary driver. Because who knew that one of the hottest of shots at OC is more interesting than Bailiff for a youngster.

Tulsa reportedly will hire Baylor OC Phil Montgomery, a name I mentioned here in the dark days of 2011-2012.

Meh. Tulsa's 20th coach since we joined up with them in the WAC years ago it seems like to me.

Yes, at Wake Forest, I believe-- and he failed miserably at it. Didn't exactly stand out as our QB coach the previous 3 years either. Why so many of us were furious with Bailiff's decision to promote him to OC (albeit oh, so very predictable).

Sorry, but I don't buy this excuse for the promotion of Edmondson. You simply don't promote a guy who has failed in that role previously, and who did not distinguish himself in the more limited role he had at Rice. I'm sure there were plenty of interested high school coaches who would have jumped at the salary and the opportunity to move up to the college ranks.

Bailiff has a decent record of hiring OC's, despite the limited budget. Mensa and Beaty both highly regarded. However, those were younger up and comers compared to Edmonson. But I don't notice a big difference between what Beaty called and what Edmonson calls. Other than the game versus Marshall, the offense was not the problem this season.
