RE: Rumor: UCONN turned down a Big12 invite
I received confirmation that UCONN is strongly considering the move to FB independence. Found out the SEC is on board to ink an annual scheduling agreement for 4 FB games per season. Of course, a lot of BB games will need to be scheduled too to compensate. B1G is not as far along on the agreement front, but they too will want BB game scheduling agreements too. This will make it difficult to do without strongly considering BB independence too. Stay tuned, more to follow.

I'm sure BYU would like to help UCONN with some indy scheduling...unless they are headed to the Big 12.

UConn could probably survive as an independent, but it would be no fun. A big part of college football is having an identity, rivalries, and ... friends.

Independence is cold and lonely.

RE: Rumor: UCONN turned down a Big12 invite
A possible turn from how things were progressing yesterday. Momentum is building within the school to go all in with the American. The thinking amongst some of the UCONN powerbrokers is that UCONN can set themselves up to be just like Texas in the Big12. The perception of the UCONN brass is that the rest of the American schools feel honored just to share a conference with UCONN. Therefore, UCONN should leverage their power within the American to become kings. This is the latest info I have.

Looks like my sources were correct. As expected, the Big12 expansion rumors were unfounded, and UCONN plus the rest of the American conference members are fully committed to their own conference.

You're welcome.

Makes complete sense, like this entire thread. UConn should be either SEC, PAC 10 or BIG 12. They are too good for the BIG 10 or ACC.

Rules for the board:

1) Miko is rarely (if ever) serious; he mocks in an entertaining way.
2) Sometimes it's fun to play along.

03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

I'll second both john and cuseroc.

That being said, there is no way on Earth that UConn declined an invite into a P5 league.
