3-way deal

Grizz get: Tim Hardaway Jr. & Sam Dalembert

RE: Potential 3-team Deal
With Koufos we basically have a starter coming off the bench.

I'd prefer to keep him.

I believe it's a 'hope for' trade. I can't find any rumors of such a deal.

Correct. I know Waiters wants to play in NY. CLE wants Kosta and NY could look to trade THJr (Melo issues) ...if so, memphis could use his scoring and shot creating ability off the bench. The money works too

Grizzlies get: Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis.
Thunder get: Nick Calathes, Zach Randolph
Pelicans get: Tayshaun Prince

Haven't run it through the trade machine but we should be on the phone ASAP...

Koufas' value will increase closer to the trade deadline. No need to trade him now. We should wait and see if we will have any injury issues. Anyway, why do you tinker with a 17-4 roster?

No need to rush it or rock the boat. Let it play out for a better deal.

Someone once told me if it ain't broke we need to break it so we can fix it. That must have originated with Hometown Tiger.

Any possible gain next year isn't worth the risk for this year IMO.

Thanks. It sounded so insane I was beginning to think I was missing something.

If anything Cleveland overvalues Koufos, which is why we should try to fleece them. Look at what they gave up for Love.

Waiters + our pick back or no deal.

So you guys are cool with going into the playoffs with Beno or old, hobbled Vince Carter as your best bench scoring option? No one thinks maybe we should be proactive and address an issue that has plagued us in past playoff series?

I'm not saying blow up the roster. I'm suggesting we trade our 5th wing and a backup center who averages 4 & 4 for a back up center with comparable stats and a young wing who can provide a scoring spark off the bench.

Oh, and we save $ so we can resign that Gasol fella in the summer.

...and I'm the one who sounds crazy?? That's crazy to you guys?? C'mon...

RE: Potential 3-team Deal
They're 17-4 and playing fine. They are even with the Thunder over the last 20 games or so. The trade deadline is in Feb. There's no need to do anything now. VC is barely playing and Beno is not a problem. Most reasonable folks, including the front office, seem to be OK with the status quo. Enjoy the ride for awhile. Nothing is broken.

I actually really like this deal. I'm not a big Q Pon fan and I really like Tim Jr. Dalembert is as good or better than Koufos at rim protecting.

Hardaway Jr and QPon is a wash.

and

Koufos is much better than Dalembert, imo.

So we basically downgrade at the center postion

No thanks.

Disagree about THJ and Q Pon. Go look at their numbers. Tim's are better across the board and he's only 22. He's clearly a better player. I think Dalembert and Koufos is pretty much a wash.

RE: Potential 3-team Deal
Dalembert is absolutely horrible and always has been. He is basically Thabeet with more playing time. Koufos is better at every phase except shot blocking.

Hardaway may be a very slightly better offensive player, but Qpon is better defensively which makes it a wash.

Like I said, it comes down to getting worse at the center position and trading one meh backup SG for another meh backup SG.

I'd rather ride out Koufos through the playoffs, let him walk at the end of the year and have the cap space.

I think Dalembert could fit into Koufos's role on this team. He certainly has less upside as a starter but we don't need that from him(hopefully). I'd be fine if they did it, wouldn't care if they didn't.

If you are worried about signing Gasol, then remember Prince comes off the books and Randolph's salary lessens as well starting next yr. There's plenty to sign Gasol at the max.

As for your deal, it's intriguing. I'm not a fan of Dalmebert at all but Tim Hardway is definitely better than QPon.
