In facultymeeting no recording devices allowed. Usually Just a officer taking minutes/notes for next meeting. So probably no transcript

Messina said he would release it. I've not seen it yet.

RE: Transcript of Messina's statement
When Messina started, I was concerned that his statement would be a support of Watts. I've never been happier to be so wrong. Messina was pissed. But composed. It was a beautiful symphony of facts and righteous indignation.

That may have been the single largest 03-nutkick I've ever seen. I was an extraordinarily proud School of Business alum today.

There is an article that references his statement on the Birmingham Business Journal web site.

"Frank Messina, faculty athletics representative and accounting professor at UAB's Collat School of Business, said that the UAB administration never involved him or any of the other faculty senate members during the months leading up to the decision. Messina said he directly approached UAB Vice President of Affairs Allen Bolton with potential financial alternatives, but he never heard back."

Frank is bada$$. Wish I would have known he was involved with picking football coaches. I would have given him a list of acceptable candidates before the McGee hire. Maybe we could have avoided this whole fiasco. 05-stirthepot
