RE: Vad Lee and the Dudley
First, congratulations on a great season and on making the playoffs!
To me it looks like the Dudley is between Vad Lee and Taylor Heinicke. No offense to Kenfall Fuller, but his stats don't look all that eye-popping to me.
Lee's and Heinicke's stats are amazingly similar for the most part.
I'll post Lee's stats for handy comparison, although I'm sure you are all aware of them.
Vad Lee in 13 games... 3, 462 passing yards, 30 TD, 60.6% completions, 7 int., sacked 25, (2) 400+ yard games, (5) 300 + yard games, 826 yds. rushing, 9 rush. TD. Lee had a great year, and did a fantastic job learning a new system and performing within it. He is definitely worthy of this award.
Taylor Heinicke in 12 games... 3, 476 passing yards, 30 TD, 63.2% completions, 16 int., sacked 28, (2) 400+ yard games, (5) 300+ yard games, 139 yds. rushing, 2 rush. TD. The question coming into this season was whether Heinicke would perform as well against an FBS schedule as he did an FCS schedule. Although his ints. were up a bit, I think most would agree that he acquited himself well in ODU's move to FBS. Heinicke is also worthy of this award.
Kendall Fuller in 12 games... 1 int. 47 yards, Tackles 50 (29 solo/21 assisted,) TFL 4.5. 18 yards, Sacks 2 11 yards, Passes broken up 14. Although Fuller obviously had a great year, I don't believe his raw stats warrant this award over either of the two qb's.
