Access Bowl Representative
If Boise loses tonight, here is what you would have. Who do you like to represent if Boise loses?

AAC - Cincy, UCF, Memphis (all 9-3)
MWC - Fresno St (7-6)
CUSA - Marshall (12-1)
MAC - NIU (11-2)
Sun Belt - Georgia Southern (9-3)

Marshall would probably get it, although they do not deserve it. They played a high school schedule. Marshall would have a hard time getting through the GCL. I think Boise State will win, however.

If Marshall gets in then the formula is known. Just chalk up wins against the weakest competition possible.

NIU looked fierce last night, a lot better than Marshall did today.

If Boise loses (and I strongly doubt it happens), then I think it's got to be one of the AAC teams. I'd have to sit down and compare schedules/results to say which one of us I'd pick.

Who gets in?

Not us. Honestly we are not that great of a team this yr.

If we were in the B12 this yr i doubt we finish .500

I highly doubt they lose as well. If it's an AAC team, I'd assume it would be Memphis.

I'd give it to us. UCF and Memphis have the worse losses and both have one less D1 win. Memphis had a weaker conference slate compared to UC. It'd be a toss up for me between Memphis and UCF, comparable conference slates though I like that BYU win UCF has.

I'd be very surprised if Boise lost though.

Objectively speaking, there's zero argument for UC over Memphis. They came into Cincinnati and won by nearly 4 TDs.

My opinion was just as objective as yours, only different.

Today's game does give me pause over whether either side of the ball has really improved since that putrid stretch early in the season.

41-14. There's no getting past that.

If UC lost to Memphis on the road in 3-point game like TCU vs. Baylor, it would be a different story.

I'm looking at the entire body of work, which I think is more important when comparing teams over the span of a season and not a single night. If that night wasn't so early in the season I'd probably have a different perspective on how indicative it was.

Do any of these teams have a win against a decent P5 team? Against any P5 team? The group looks so mediocre that it is actually an argument against even having a Access Bowl.

This. I wouldn't be opposed that if no G5 teams are ranked in the top 25 it would go to an at large P5

I would add no bad losses, a couple pretty good wins over ECU and Houston was a pretty good team also

I wish it was UC but I think BSU. Marshall barely beat UAB, then lost to WKU and today barely beat LA Tech. Cream Puff schedule.

Boise State is up 21 on Fresno State.
