RE: Conference USA Championship Game Week Thread
SOME of you are ridiculous...just friggin' ridiculous... If this...if that...If we show up.... We beat so and so...you lost to so and so...Just shut your pie holes, will ya?? The transitive property DOES NOT apply....

Whomever wins (which La Tech CAN DO), it will not be because someone didn't "show up"... It will be because of better execution, play calling, and adjustments at halftime...

The "best" will be determined on Saturday...And please, no BULLS%#^ excuses from the losing team (We didn't show up, refs, blah blah blah)

Tech beat ULL, Rice, WKU, and UTEP by an average score of 60-16.

But Tech also lost to NW State and ODU (statistically the 2 worst teams on our schedule). We also struggled against USM and UTSA offensively.

If the top team shows up, we should win. If the bottom team shows up we will lose.

We can be bipolar. We feed off turnovers and when we win we hit big plays on offense. If we don't hit those big plays, we lose. So if Marshall can avoid turnovers and prevent big plays, they will likely win the game.

Again...the transitive argument doesn't apply... Personally, I don't think your "top team" is better than our "top team", but that is not how it works...

Your argument is flawed... You are saying that La Tech is the only team that can play well or not play well...You don't think Marshall has been bipolar??? Give me a break! But the difference is that I'm not setting the stage for a lame excuse if we lose...

If you beat us in Huntington, it will be because you had a better game plan, executed better, etc... NOT because our "top team" didn't show up... If your team can't get up for the championship game, then you have bigger problems than "the top team" showing up...

I agree with that. I guess I'm just saying we will need our formula to work... pressure the QB, create turnovers, and hit a few big plays on offense. If Marshall prevents that then you deserve the game.

I believe the defense will play well. The big plays on offense is what has been inconsistent. We will need to execute at a high level on offense to win this one. I think our biggest hurdle is ourselves though (execution).

Well, here's to a good INJURY FREE game!!!! We have to really execute well ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL in order to beat you...

Because Lord knows our defense couldn't stop a clock last week...

I was trolling. Just trying to stir the pot. I will be surprised if Tech wins in WV. It has been a crazy season for Tech and no one knows which team will show up. I am more interested to see our D against the MU O. I hope good tech shows up and holds MU to season lows on offense and holds them to the 20s.

We also struggled against USM offensively.

This would be my biggest concern were I a La Tech fan lol

Well consider me trolled then I guess lol. Unfortunately the weather forecast is horrible with rain expected most of the day. Hopefully that changes or a lot of people will stay at home or out in the parking lots under their tents.

Who would have thunk that given Marshall's dominance early, there would be such heated conversation about the Championship Game. I think we are gonna have a real game on Saturday instead of a laugher like many predicted earlier in the season.

The game will be tough for us. Not confident. We may have peaked way too early. We'll see if our coaches can man up and earn their paychecks this week.

The weather has sucked all season. Rain or forecast for rain almost every home game. Predicted heavy rain for our game at this point. Won't do us any favors. ugh!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll be very lucky if we have 25K there.

Don't the fans know that Marshall could still get into the AB if Boise loses to Fresno on the smurf turf?

It would then be between a 12-1 Marshall or a 9-3 Memphis with no Champ. Game.

Your coach needs to get your community fired up about this and a 12 win season.

Oh yeah, as well as a C-USA Championship....duh!

I'm hoping Marshall comes out flat as pancakes. Tech is riding high, and with the game in the cold wet Marshall stadium, we are gonna need the little thing to go our way.

At the onset of the season, I thought there were games that would be difficult for us (Akron, FAU, UAB, and WKU)....and never did I think we'd skate through the season...True, I thought we would win them all, but I digress... Going undefeated is difficult at any level... I never thought the CC game was going to be easy...and it won't be...

Good luck and safe travels Tech! BTW, who is making the trip???

All I know is this: If the same two teams that played the Monarchs at Foreman Field at S. B. Ballard Stadium show up to play this weekend, Marshall will win big time.

Going undefeated is an almost impossible task. Any team that does it at any level in FBS is deserving of an Access Bowl bid. There is only one undefeated team left for a reason.
