**** This Talk of Finding UAB's Replacement
Instead of fighting with each other about who should UAB be replaced by if the worst case scenario comes to fruition, we all should be fighting for UAB. Go on your Twitter, Facebook, any form of social media you have and spread the word! Email and send letters to Univ of Alabama system BoT. Sign petitions. Our goal should be to help our conference brothers and sisters, not jump to conclusions when they are in need.

indeed.

and what people don't seem to understand is that if the cartel has enough influence in one state to destroy an entire althletic department, we are all at risk. all of us.

arguing over the empty place at the table is not only missing the point, it's rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.

the cartel didnt destroy a program. bama killed the program at bama birmingham. they are closing and filling in the pool at their second home. when bama kills the program at marshall. then it will be a cartel kill.

Hate to admit it but this is my thinking as well. I would love to be wrong but the inevitable is near...waiting until Thursday is just prolonging it. I do realize that your football coach has said no decision has been made AS OF NOW but even the highest ups in the know have said the writing is on the wall in permanent ink

don't feel all sung and warm. when the budget dollars for education in TN get tighter, UT and Vandy will look your way, and you had better be prepared.

Continue to raise enough awareness and the BoT can have a change of heart. The BoT is hoping that the national media doesn't pick this up. With enough public outcry, we can change what's going on over there! Implore your message boards and social media accounts at share what's going on.

UK lobbied to get an advanced engineering school at WKU axed. There is not a P5 out there that would not do this if they could.

The coach (Bill Clark) has said that is not correct, and called on the fanbase to fight. And so we will. All help is appreciated.

The Athletic Director's firing is not confirmed. He has made no statement, but then, he's made no statement of his own since this began (merely issued a letter written by the president's office in his name). He is likely in hiding. The president is on vacation in New York City.

Besides, it is a fine opportunity to vent on some truly evil people.

From what I've heard and read, it doesn't sound like anyone on the BoT has a heart.

Arkansas tried to get the state legislature to shut our program down at one point.

The biggest difference between our schools and UAB is that Alabama has direct control of UAB, while the rest of us are part of our own systems.

There is always concern for Memphis and MT but thankfully both are under the Board of Regents. Not the same Board as the one that governs UT. Vandy is a private institution. So, as long as both Memphis and MT hang together and have enough friends in the legislature and the Governor's Office the Big Urenge and the Dores can't touch either of our basic programs. But nobody who is not in the Cartel 5 should be "snug and warm"!

& as you can in UAB's case, if you don't have a seat at the dinner table, you are probably on the menu...Thank you all again...An "11th Hour Save UAB Football Rally" is being held on the UAB campus in an hour from now. Please keep a good thought for our Football program.

Just to avoid confusion, I unapproved two threads discussing what to do with scheduing holes and players should this event happen. Felt a little premature, especially with the coach saying this is not final yet.

I anyone has great heartache with this, feel free to PM me. Just felt this is pretty inflammatory and premature at a time when UAB fans are rightly very emotional on this subject......

I'm guessing "unapproved" and "deleted" are more or less the same thing . . .

no, I completely agree. I thought it was outrageous.

Actually not.......depending on what happens, I can "approve" these threads, allowing visibility and posts.....as the topics are valid and important issues, should this not go UAB's way. Just felt we needed to let this play out first.......
