They all looked so confused when jack announced and showed the odu football score. I had to explain to the lamb fans what "football" is.

Was I obnoxious? Yep. And it felt food.

I was surrounded by 15 VCU fans and to their credit, they sat in their seats the entire game and took the beating.

I gotta agree. Other than the woman with the paint-peeling voice, most of the piss-yellow invasive fans in section 102 were well behaved.

They had to be...they were getting their ass kicked most of the game.

Except they were cursing the whole game sitting right behind my 5 year old. I wasn't born yesterday and understand there will be slips, but it was every other word with those guys. Not happy about it.

They were more interested in the Eastern Regional Quiddich tournament and Greater Richmond Dungeon and Dragons elimination challenge.

I enjoyed reading that beautiful schadenfreude on their boards.

Haven't been over there in a while and now I remember why.

Here's a nice little "gem" though......

"ramcub

When can we opt out of this series? I know they won't be an rpi anchor this season... I think. But it's just not even fun any more- we may as well play radford as another warm up game. They should be so lucky we even return a home game for them, and have a ranked opponent show up to that library of a home arena. In a few years maybe we'll pay them to come up and get their teeth kicked in too. - I may have misplaced this, so mods if this belongs in the fodu thread, that's fine too."

Another good one.....

districtballer

The thing is they think they can do to us what Villanova did to us. ODU is nowhere close to the universe Villanova is in. It'll be a tough game because it's a rivalry game on the road, but they will not handle us. That's just homer bravado talking. The talent differential is still very significant and will continue to be going forward.

Just read through their game thread on feces U ramnation... completely enjoyed all the bull**** talk up before tip off. these fans (and presumably) players really got to believing in their USAToday pre-season Ranking and forgot to believe in themselves. And throughout the game, they blamed their players for losing rather than accepting that the opposing team (us) devised a plan to defeat them. loved it. you should read it. it's sad and very heartwarming at the same time.

They give us zero credit.

They might honestly have the most clueless fanbase in basketball outside of some of those horrible bcs mouth breathers who have "never heard" of most mid majors.

We wrecked them from start to finish but they continually state that we aren't that good, they just had a bad game.

Must be interesting to live in your own reality.

Plus the vcu fan who called the other vcu fan and his girlfriend fat and disgusting was just hilarious. They eat their own, just like the animals they are.

Their problem is simple. They really did believe that they were one of the 15 best teams in the nation. Reality bites!!!

Like a coddled child, the prototype VCU fan emerged from Tom Yeager's CAA believing that they were entitled to every close call by the refs, were always assured of the home tourney advantage, and could act like total spoiled brats while every other fan base was expected to be on their best behavior.

** When subjected to criticism on the CAAZone, they pulled out en masse.

** When the refs essentially fouled out the entire Drexel front court in the 2012 (?) CAA tournament, there was not a lick of shame to be seen from their fans.

** When they finally fell to Butler in their dream NCAA run, their students rioted on Broad Street.

** When their starting point guard commits larceny, its a minor ("well, boys will be boys") infraction.

Speaking for myself only, I would gladly sacrifice a few rpi points to watch them experience several more doses of "reality".

They have it coming..Ill. State is no push over. Then UVA. I see 2 more losses. VCU is easy to guard because they are 1 dimensional....stop Graham and they are done.

They are going to have a tough row to ho against Ill State. They are much longer and just as fast as VCU and their D was stifling compared to what I saw of VCU.
