All I know is if at 7-5 and two bowl eligible seasons in a row if Benson doesn't get us placed I will be calling for his head or TXST to find another conference

Last year you were 6-6. You really had no argument last year as one of 4 6-6 teams in the league, there was no chance of getting placed.

This year you have a legit argument, provided you win today.

Our AD basically confirmed the Cajuns are going to New Orleans.

Yeah I wasnt mad about last year because we lost our QB and subsequently our last 3 games so I get it. This year leaving us out would be a slap in the face.

And if USA gets left out then we should be equally as pissed as we were also bowl eligible last year and sat at home. We didn't have the benefit of an FCS team on our schedule either.

Not only that but USA also had, by far, the toughest schedule in the conference and has beaten teams with more wins in the SBC.

Temple will have to get the job done at Tulane next week. They lose to Cincinnati, 14-6.

Illinois gets in by eliminating Northwestern, 47-33.

Ohio State, as expected, eliminates Michigan from bowl consideration, 42-28.

Louisville eliminates Kentucky, 44-40.

Side note: I guess Louisiana Tech was trying to send Marshall a message by putting up 76 on Rice.

And completely dominate us in the process. Regardless, ODU had a nice transitional season..

Number of bowl eligible/ineligible teams
After the early games we have 75 teams eligible with 76 total spots. There are 8 teams that are still undecided. ESPN FPI predicts that UAB, Tennessee, Fresno St. And Temple will all become eligible so we're likely looking at 79 teams for 76 spots. That means all transitional teams are out and three eligible teams will not go. We have three tie-ins so we will get three but I doubt we get all four in considering how they've handled the Sun Belt in the past.

I agree with it being too many, but somehow I always end up watching nearly every one of them.

Agree 100%, hardly makes them special anymore when almost 2/3rds of fbs teams can go..

RE: Number of bowl eligible/ineligible teams
I'd basically like a situation where the top 8 play for a championship in playoff format, then numbers 1 & 2 of each conference go to a bowl.

Unfortunately, that would leave my Bobcats out of a bowl this season, but I think it would make the bowls more special.

It also will happen sometime right around the time Hell freezes over.

WKU missed out at 8-4. That would really suck.

The best thing TXST has going for them is being close to open spots. Teams in states where no bowls exist make it harder to pick those schools
