In fairness though: ECU didn't have tp play Houston or Memphis; Cincinnati didn't have to play UCF; UCF didn't have to play Cincinnati or Memphis; Houston didn't have to play ECU. So every team got a break, because there were enough Tulane's, SMU's and Tulsa's to go around.

The AAC team that really got screwed by the schedule is Temple. Temple played every top team (Memphis, UCF, ECU, Houston and Cincinnati). I still don't understand why Tulsa was invited this year to the AAC, because it killed round robin play.

Well at least we only have to deal with this type of conference race for this season. Temple really did get screwed in the scheduling deal. When I was talking about the Memphis schedule was not only who they played but where they played and the fact that they did not have as crazy of a schedule with off weeks and as many non-saturday games. I think the schedule set-up hurt Cincy at the start of the season...I also think all the open dates/non-saturday games and time between games hurt ECU as well. Hard to stay sharp when you are not playing games on a regular basis.

UC can blame Memphis for losing.

Oh and UC didnt just lose at home. UC got manhandled. UC got biotch slapped. Complete and total domination. UC got clobbered. UC did not win any aspect of the football game. Memphis coulda scored 60 points.

Memphis had a 4th quarter 14 minute drive just running the ball and kneeling it out at the 5 to end the game. Let that sink in.

The only other team Memphis outright dominated the way it did UC was Austin Peay.

If we are mediocre then Cincy is down right pathetic.

Just funny stuff. How soon you forget

"Congrats Tigers

Congrats. Better team and better coaching staff won. ECU stumbles, you guys will win this conference with the games you have left.

Fuente may be on some big boy conference radars very soon. Had them really ready to play. Our coach looks like he is on a career achievement victory tour."

03-lmfao So we should apologize for the schedule we were assigned by the league?

I don't think so....

No I never said that...Just relax. Read my post above.

Just keep in mind that UConn beat UCF and were hanging with ECU into the 4th quarter. I doubt that UConn has much to play for except pride at this point, but their defense can and mght put up a pretty good struggle against Memphis today.

Heck, I agree read my earlier post. UConn hasnt conceded anything. We havent won anything but 8 games with a dominant win over Cincy.

I'll just say this: play UCF/UConn again 10 times in weather that isn't freezing and raining and UCF wins 10 times.

It was truly the most abysmal game UCF has played in probably 3-4 years.

Both teams played in same weather, UCF played sloppy and UConn made us pay. Give credit where credit is due.

Point still remains though. The conference tried to balance the schedule. UCF, Cincy, Houston, SMU and ECU were expected to be the top 5. We had to play 3 of them. Memphis was not expected to be where we are.

Blame the AAC who couldn't apparently see into the future.

Thank you. A voice or reason finally speaks.

I sat down some time ago and compared schedules trying to determine if any program had a real, tangible advantage . The answer was "probably not" but figured it was useless to bring common sense into the discussion and just remained quiet.

Yea, pretty sure that's why I said "if we aren't playing in that weather".

Amazing how everyone overlooks that. Cincy fans are adorable.

I'm not saying this just because I want marshall to basically mulligan into the Access Bowl with 5 things needing to happen, but isn't it kinda cheap to not have a Sole Champion. The Committee could have 10 candidates next week, because the AAC gets 5 chances with CO Champs.

It's also kind of cheap to position yourself for an Access Bowl by playing the worst schedule in the nation during a season where you're fielding one of your better teams.

Not the point of the thread. I'm just saying that the AAC could have 5 chances as to where the other 4 conferences will only have one.

It's one year due to us waiting on Navy. Next year we have divisions and a Championship game.

True, it gives us a better shot and more options. This is only one year.

No, I'm using logic. We aren't the only team who has a chance to tie Memphis, and Memphis still has to win another game as well. A little sensitive are we?
