Mississippi and Arkansas Bans on Marriage Equality Struck Down
There is a 14 day stay. Which could be extended by the Circuit. By January, 37 states will have marriage equality.

Great. The majority of Americans still don't agree with the judges.

Arkansas has a ton of very antiquated anti gay laws that badly need to be struck down. We're a very backwards place.

Actually, a plurality of Americans do... The latest polls are:

48% for -- 39% against (October 2014)
49% for -- 41% against (September 2014)
55% for -- 42% against (May 2014)
55% for -- 39% against (April 2014)

72% of Americans between 18-39 support same-sex marriage.

It is not "Marriage Equality". It is "Gay Marriage".

^ hater. Don't support gay marriage? Don't get gay married.

It's marriage equality. That 72% shows just how wrong side of history the older generations are. Sounds familiar.

If it's anything like heterosexual marriage, odds are divorce is likely soon enough.....Way too many marriages don't make it to the "death do us part" part these days....Divorce is a huge B1tch, but pretty popular....maybe all time high

Another industry for economic growth... Marriages, then a bunch of new divorces and re-marriages...

I hope if/when I marry I don't have to get a divorce. 03-drunk

A large % of divorces are multiple divorce folks. At some point the problem is with certain individuals.

Good thing LGBTQ activists have their sights set on the important things like marriage equity. Wouldn't want something like, oh, say ISIS executes two men suspected of being gay to get in the way of safe, warm priorities here in the West.

Personally...I could care less about this issue..but...
I can't wait to watch the fallout from this. Be very careful what you ask for gays.

I can't marry another man either. That's marriage equality. What you're talking about is gay marriage.

We're fully aware of the massive human rights abuses committed against our community by Islamic radicals in Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. And the massive human rights abuses committed against our community by Christian radicals in Cameroon, Uganda, Nigeria, Jamaica, Belize, and Russia.

But the fact that Christian/Islamic fundamentalists are committing heinous crimes against humanity claiming to be supported by their religons, doesn't mean that we cannot move forward with equality in places where we aren't killed or jailed simply for who we are.

We seek to apply pressure on those violent regimes where we can. Especially if material support for those human rights abuses comes from the West (e.g., Uganda)

It's gay marriage. And that 72% is only there to make you guys happy. I can guarantee you that they haven't polled many people from red areas.

That is the proper way to present it.

Marriage is between one man and one woman with consent. Marriage inequality is if a man was denied the right to marry a woman where other men were not.

Gay marriage is adding terms to the legal definition of marriage. No different than polygamy, polyamory, or expanding to nonconsensual bonds.

(None of this is intended to pick on you, Tom; I’m just musing out loud here.)

I look forward to seeing massive LGBTQ demonstrations against Muslim and other radicals. I would take part in them. I want nothing but the best for the LGBTQ population.

But instead I often get this:

I cannot be more clear that this turns off normal people. Normal people who would be your allies.

I just find the LGBTQ priorities misguided. Gays are DYING around the world, and I'm told that's because rich white people support a traditional definition of marriage so let's have a dirty party and dress up.
