Reality...
This isn't as good of a basketball league as we thought it was....
Probably a three bid league at the most.
Tulsa, SMU and Memphis look like NIT teams.

Living up to your name bro. This is the first month of the season. Let it pan out a bit before you circle the wagons.

Memphis will be fine, Cinci is strong and so is Uconn. Temple I think will make a run and lets not close the door on SMU and Tulsa yet.

RE: Reality...
Man I thought SMU scheduled too hard of an OOC in football.
Looks just as hard OOC in basketball. Undefeated (and traditional power) Gonzaga, usually tough Indiana (power perhaps?), and undefeated Arkansas (power again?) with upcoming undefeated Wyoming and undefeated and ranked Michigan looming. I can't imagine anyone being more prepared for conference play then SMU.

Cincy is struggling to beat nobodies. They are replacing a lot of firepower. They might develop into a great team, and they will certainly play great defense and with great effort. But they aren't "strong" right now.

With 10 (yes, 10) new players - "we" have no idea what Memphis will be. Fine or not fine.

Being a UMass fan and knowing Jesse Morgan landed at Temple, think he'll help Temple as soon as classes end in Dec.
Jesse Morgan stats from UMass.

What a dumb post OP. Everyone knew all the team were rebuilding this year. It was a vet league last year. January will be a better indicator.

Reality? Step away from the keyboard.
This is just the 3rd game of the season. What does that have to do with who will stand out come March??
SMU is playing without Markus Kennedy. Houston's only viable PG, Rose, is out till December.. I expect both of these teams to grow a ton this season. That's why College Basketball is such a great game. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
There's a LOT of basketball to be played

No kidding!
And, I'm sure they were probably counting on Mudiay and Kennedy to be there when they scheduled them..
Nevertheless, SMU will be fine. Too much talent and the best coach in CBB.
Scheduling tough will help them long term.

RE: Reality...
The leagues best OOC wins right now are
Temple over La Tech
USF over UAB
Tulsa over Auburn
UCONN over Dayton
I think we are 0-4 against ranked teams so far.
I dont see UAB or Auburn being RPI 100 wins for the league.
Upcoming marquee games.
Tulsa has Ok State, WSU and Creigton. That is 1-2 at best.
UCONN has #7 Texas, Florida and #4 Duke. That is realistically 1-2
SMU has one more chance at a OOC win @ #18 Michigan. (unlikely to get a win in Ann Arbor)
Temple has St. Joes, KU and Nova.
UC has SDSU, VCU and NC STATE
Memphis has Gonzaga and Poke

It's the first month of the season. By the way, have you taken a look at some of the other conferences? They aren't do so much better. We'll be fine.

Auburn sucks. Houston's road win at Murray St was at least as impressive.

RE: Reality...
Im not saying SMU isnt talented and wont have a good season and be competitive in the AAC. Im saying that they likely wont have a quality OOC win to hang their hat on. Do you think 13-5 in AAC play is going to be enough with a likely 7-4 OOC record?

You know nothing about UCONN! They could go 3-0 in those games, or 0-3. It doesn't matter. Coach Ollie will have them ready for any, and all, challenges this season. Also, I see UCONN going 2-1. Either Duke, or Texas, gets us. My money's on Duke, because they need to avenge '99 and '04.

This. Geez.. I think panic is on her period. We haven't even played a handful of teams yet.

Too early to panic right now, if you look around with the other conferences we are competing with for bids they are in the same boat early on with a lack of huge wins and conferences like the A-10 have actually had a few really RPI damaging losses which we have avoided pretty well so far.
