This thread hasn't gone real well for you.
There is a difference between a joke and bragging, a point lost on the tundra folks. You guys have some serious confidence issues if you need to monitor the AAC board and defend Syracuse's honor anytime your school is brought up.
4 > 1 (maybe 0). As with all things that actually matter in sports, advantage UConn.
I personally don't care, but it's technically 4 > 3.
Are you counting Helms trophies

Are fans really arguing over owning New York? There are better states to fight over.

"Drop mic" by pointing to a purchased ad in a stadium? Should I point to our ads in the NYTimes, NYC subway, Metro North or DC Metro? No, of course not because that is pathetic.
But I will point out that your men's team got bumped for our women's team on SNY in NYC. Drops mic.

Like I said, if you want to be technical, then they should be included as they are technically NC's. I personally think that when you're comparing two programs that have played virtually every year for many, many years, head to head records are the best metric.

Yawn...lots of Beta Males in the eastern end of the Tri-State to satisfy.
SNY didn't drop the Cuse that night...so much as it was a contractual obligation but carry on the fantasy.
SNY was nice for Tier 3 games...but the ACC Package is nicer.

Just so we are clear, SNY had a contractual obligation to show UConn women, an arrangement that the Syracuse men were obviously not able to secure. Defend it however you want, but this is a for-profit NY-based channel making the economic decision to commit more resources to UConn women than Syracuse men.
In my world, that speaks a lot louder than any taxi-cab ads, or Yankee Stadium banners that you Syracuse wants to purchase.

Hmmm Cuse had a contract too, as did Rutgirls...water over the dam. We have moved on to a new contract/league. BTW, IIRC it only happened once...sh!t happens. Maybe they thought Providence was a crappy opponent for Cuse that night.

As someone that has no dog in this fight, I will say this:
Just because Storrs is next to Fairfield does not mean that you "bring" NYC. You know that as well as I do. Using your own logic uconnwhaler, Stony Brook or St Johns would own that city(in at least Basketball).
For Syracuse, You did draw well in NYC, not questioning that. However with the teams that I listed and throwing in when Seton Hall or Fordham(when they are at least average) and Rutgers Women, even that city cannot lay claim to only one team!
You want to go after a school trying to claim that State/Market? Go after the school that is 375 miles west(by car) from the City that is actually making moves to get it!

Florida. No state income tax. Beautiful weather.
I am a PA boy, so I am speaking from any bias. I have been to Watkins Glen and West Point. Glorious scenery and great grapes, but I won't want to reside in New York. Gas prices are ridiculous and your governor is a nutcase.

RE: So Syracuse is NY's College Team Huh?
1. I was under the impression that ACC teams are highly unlikely to get on SNY because they have existing contracts with MSG & YES. The "they are not on SNY" talking point is stupid as F*** because it usually comes down to conference affiliation & competing networks.
2. Not talking as an SU fan here, I'm talking as a general college sports fan. The notion of discrediting helms, especially in basketball is absolutely ridiculous. Only a minority of fans may actually agree with this stance, but that minority represents the portion of fans who fully understand the various NC claims thoughout college sports history. Helms is incredibly accurate and is well respected due to it's reputation for being non-biased. There are dozens of other selectors from this time period and the general consensus is that it blew those other selectors away. Numerous CFB programs use helms as their primary claim to national titles. For example like Syracuse in basketball, Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, & USC use helms to make multiple national title claims in football. The NCAA even recognizes helms national titles.
Anyone who considers himself a true college basketball fan and thinks an NCAA tourny from an era where it was one team per conference, 8 teams total, and played second fiddle to the NIT, is unquestionably valid whereas the validity of a helms is questionable, needs to be punched in the face.

RE: So Syracuse is NY's College Team Huh?
Presently the only uniforms with NEW YORK across their chests is from the school that resides in Buffalo. It won't be long before Hurley leaves Old Man Boeheim in his dust. 'Cuse football has already replaced Duke toward in bottom of the barrel and will soon to overtake Wake. At that point, the hot air-inflated Carrier Dome's best attendance will be for flea markets and arts & crafts fairs.
P.S. I thought of Stephen Colbert while writing this.
