I put up lots every year with my season tickets and my donation that is required to have the seats. I do make noise at all the games. This message board is here for "opinions" and even "debate". Try again.

Wasn't that the same argument from those wanting to hold onto Porter?
"We were already paying Tommy... we can't afford to buyout Larry, too. If you want to fire Larry, then send in a few thousand, otherwise put a sock in it."

Funny thing is... I send in a few thousand... per seat... just to have the right to buy the tickets to watch Josh lose to CBU. Its arguable as to whether people like me pay Josh's salary since it is our over the top donation level that allows the university to allocate Ambassador donations to go towards Josh's gaudy salary.

your donation goes to pay for the scholarships of our athletes.

and if those dollars weren't there, then the Ambassador money paid towards Josh's salary would then be allocated for necessities... like scholarships.

yes, but they are and have been for 30-40 years.

the spike in ambassadors and scholarship money occurred when Cal was here. Oh, we've always had a fan base willing to purchase tickets, but the scholarship fund was around 1 million prior to Calipari. Since then, the fund has grown to 7-8 million.

I've got news for you, those who want the coach fired include some folks who have the money for the buyout in between the cushions of their couch.

then the wheels should be already turning if that is the case.

I'm sure a few eyebrows have been raised but Pastner is here for this year and probably next year as well thanks to the Lawsons.

This is year 6 for JP. It's all on him. He'll either get it done or he won't. This is 100% his team and his staff. The early returns don't look promising but we'll pretty much know where we stand by Christmas. He could still turn things around.

I said last year, I would wait until he has another group that makes up the 'core' of his team before passing judgment. We will know at the end of this year.

I guess that means you can stay off the message board until the year is finished.

Ok, per Sgt Hulka, "lighten up Francis". Funny how you label someones "opinions" as 'garbage speak' when it differs from yours. Then get your depends in a wad when someone criticizes your opinions. Your purchase of tickets do not make you a "donar". Regardless of how you spin it. Try to claim that 'deduction' on your income tax.

There is one reason and one reason only that the TSF donations are up. In the Pyramid, I had 4 seats in the lower level corner for a $1000 donation. Now, the donation required for 4 similar lower level corner seats in the Forum is up to over $5000.

People have continued to buy all available seats because we have had a good competitive basketball team (beginning with what Cal built). If the product quality slips, then ticket sales and donations will slip too. People vote with their dollars. I can't see continued sellouts of season tickets if the Tigers slip and are no longer an NCAA team. That is a very possible outcome for this season.

I'm rooting for a big turnaround starting with a respectable performance against Wichita State and then improving from there.

We have talent. These kids know how to play basketball. I think Pastner has probably confused the sh*t out of them.

Don't tell me that our guys would not ROLL CBU's guys in a pickup game on the playground. They would.

I agree with the confusion and the Rolling.

A losing season and he's gone, I think that's a given. Anything better than that, who knows--it's a sliding scale after that point, from 15-15 to 30-0 where Josh drops nobody knows.

RE: Minimum to save his job?
To answer the question asked in this thread title, my belief is make the tourney.

Pastner has always had that or a great recruiting class in his back pocket. The incoming class isn't tied to Josh so that won't be the case this year. If he misses the tourney in March, that means we dropped a lot of games to some really mediocre teams...an ugly season will turn up the heat. If we finish better than what how we started, that might buy him 1 more year.

Depends how ugly it gets...
