I would bet that both will appear on our schedule in '16 (assuming the conference stays stable), so I'm gonna wait until then. It will be here before you know it. I think that either stAte or ULL would draw very well at Paulson, so that would be also welcomed.

Yes, this debate could go on for another two years. Maybe that is why our AD wants a nine game schedule.

It would solve that problem but presents another, because someone would have 5 conf road games and others would have 5 conf home games. We need to get to 12 teams and have the championship game.

RE: Hypothetical Ga Southern vs. UL/Ga Southern vs. A-State?
Several years ago I wrote a computer program that takes in football statistics for two teams and predicts the outcome based on those stats. It is similar to the Harmon Forecast computer predictions that CBS Sports used to put out. The Skully Forecast (as I aptly named it) had about a 5% better success rate than the Harmon Forecast over the course of a few seasons (which is pretty good). I remember it predicted the exact score of the Alabama-LSU game two years in a row.

When I get home I will have to pull it up and run the numbers for Georgia Southern versus both Louisiana Lafayette and Arkansas State on a neutral field.

In 2 years all three teams are going to be completely different. So just like most of the threads that end up on this topic... Pointless. Because the debate is about whether the teams now could beat each other, which we will obviously never find out.

We have 11 members. We do not have divisions. We CANNOT have a championship game under the rules. The fact that we have 11 members is a result of raiding by other conferences.

The conference did not decide to be raided to make you unhappy about not having a championship game.

In order to go to 12 members we need to invite another school to join and go through the transition period. In order to do that we need good candidates for membership that everyone can agree on. There are no such candidates at this time. The lack of good candidates also is not the fault of this conference.

Why is this such a difficult concept for Cajun fans to understand?

Which FCS school would you like to bring into our ranks so us Mickey Mousers can have a championship game according to NCAA rules?

ULL and ULM play this week, right? Isn't that supposed to be a big deal? Can we talk about that?

I find it funny that most fans feel the Cajuns could beat GS at home but not on the road but ASU could beat GS at either place interesting.

I don't know how many times we would stop either team, I just don't think that they would stop us much either.

If ULM loses though, most of the trouble gets confined to the Warhawk message board, where they deal with any of the usual number of Cajun Trolls.

I ran the Skully Forecast... it had GS going 1-1 against ASU and Louisiana Lafayette. I don't know if I should which team they would be predicted to beat...

We matchup far better with Southern than we do you guys. Option team that isn't necessarily big, but will use speed to get players to the outside.

Our defense stats are halfway amusing. We've held 5 of our 9 opponents under 14 points, and our DL is 7th in the country in sacks, yet we've got a really poor Yards Per game average all stemming from a certain night in Lafayette a couple weeks ago.

95 percent of the SBC issues both our teams face right now are matchup related. Its why you guys have had a ton of close games with ULM with some losses mixed in, while we've blown them out something like 4 straight years. Its part of the reason South Alabama had success with WKU last year, but the toppers kept beating us.

I think our game might end up in more of a defensive struggle truthfully. Offenses are pretty similar, and both teams like to do what the other team stops well. It just seems like one of those games where both teams score in the low 20's and try to figure out how to win.

Correction, several Cajun fans! There is not a bunch of us calling for any championship game unless someone decides to sponsor the game and is pays for itself. Frankly, I have no interest in diluting conference revenue any further then it is today.

But you've only seen that happen once in the last 6 seasons. And for the record, the Chickenhawks have banned a number of Cajun fans from their site because they love hiding behind their locked forums talking sh^t!

You've got a few fans who get rather trolly after a big win. We met a few of them on our board sadly enough.

We haven't had to ban anyone, but we haven't lost 5 of 6 to you guys either.
