Remember has a guy tell me preseason that Longoria was one of our best players. Told him if that was true we wouldn't win 2 games. Guy can't get on the field. The LBs and corners rarely ever get on the field. And those were positions of huge needs.

I don't think any were supposed to start, except maybe Thomas when we were sorting out our RB issues. I never remember hearing that actually.

Looking at the signee list for 2014 and looking at the participation reports:
Keaton: 8 games
Butler: 9 games
White: 0 games
C. Williams: 10 games
Roberts: 2 games
Longoria: 7 games

Obviously Thomas doesn't have any since he was done in the pre-season. Not sure what the deal is with Darrius White. I believe that's all the JUCO's though. Looks like pretty much all of them are contributing significantly.

If we lose Coach Fritz this year, the SB should just file their Navy defensive game plans next year, because we'll look more like that...

RE: Hey Eagles
It is a gamble that can go either way but those that said depth can be an issue are correct. It's the top reason that you go for JUCOs in a transition. Fran has had to dip into that well quite a lot. While we lost a few to grades we also got guys like Mayo, Shaw, Garrett, Dillon, Ijah, Dallas and Best (a lot of them starters and all of whom names are called out by ESPN announcers) and a QB that sufficed the first 2 years. Behind those, Fran has been able to recruit for the future while fielding a decent to good team in 2014.

I'm seriously doubting that. The coaching tree is too short. Why go back? Coach Ruse would likely get the job.

Ruse and few others go with CF, Curtis stays, Ninja Master or Jasper comes to Sboro.

I would love to keep Ruse if Fritz did leave, but I really just want to have someone that runs the Malzahn-like offense that we run now.

Maybe I'm delusional, but I don't think CF is going anywhere this year and if we make it to year three, he'll be here for a long time.

I agree that if we can keep him for a few years and he keeps up this level of success, he may stay here and become one of our legends. That is if he can keep up this level of success.

So Ruse turns down a job with similar pay and his boss just completed a one year stint to be given a raise in the order of millions. I doubt he turns down the opportunity if given.

Depends on which job Fritz gets.

Would be a bad career move to follow Fritz to Kansas because you won't go from being a Kansas OC to a 7-figure head coaching job. Plus it's hard to win at Kansas and they don't have a lot of patience and there is no telling how long Ruse would be there.

I don't think we are going back to the double slots triple option type of offense. If we have to hire a new head coach soon I would not expect Ayers or Jasper to come here. I do believe Ruse would be given the opportunity.

Ruse being touted as a head coach. Wow...as a stAte fan that is weird. Of course a lot of us have decided a lot of our problems when Ruse was here was our "don't take a chance" head coach.

Pretty good OC, his play calling against NCSU and GT was spot on.

I would not be opposed to hiring Jasper, I would just prefer someone along the lines of what we are doing now.

RE: Hey Eagles
Except for the money, Kansas can't hold a candle to GaSo, ASU or UL. And then you recruit against Bill Snyder in a small population state.
