Dude, you're only averaging about 1,300 more per game in a metro area WAY bigger than BG. I'd hardly be calling out anyone for a lack of attendance.

And as far as that photo goes, that's a pic of the East side stands which is NEVER ever close to full. The students and most everyone else sits on the West side. It's not only the Home side, but it's also the best for escaping the gale force winds and for keeping any sun out of your eyes for the game.

I've seen those stands full. Actually, the weather last Saturday wasn't all that great.

Judging by that photo, you're obviously going on ticket sales... not butts in seats... IDC if the other side is jam packed, you're place aint holding 15k on mostly one side.

The larger the metro area, the more alternatives for entertainment. If I'm in wood county, one of the only things to do is a BG football game. 20k students don't all go home every weekend...

Maybe toledo does ticket sales too, but we're at least close! I can show you a panorama of the east side for all of our games so far with the listed attendances....and it doesn't look remotely close to a high school game like that photo!

Again: it matters not, but consider when the photo was taken. Our east side looks pretty bad after half sometimes. Near the end of blowouts we don't look so full either. If this is near the end of the WMU game, I expect a lot of folks are in their cars. If it's midway through the first quarter then there's a problem. And so what? Those that wsnna be there are. We aren't ever going to be the Big Somenumber.

It isn't a knock on the program, it's a knock on the lack of support by the fan base. (BTW, we knock on our own city for not supporting the Rockets as well as they should.) Johnson may be out, but BG was still 3-0 with a good WM team coming in. It was a huge game. If BG was 0-3 or it was pouring rain I guess I could understand. Every time I've been there the place was pretty full, but that's always been for BG/UT.

I don't know what you guys expect. BG is still a pretty small town. We have the same problem nearly every MAC school has. Ticket prices are an issue too, as well as travel costs. Plus the game was on BCSN and on ESPN3.

When i was young, every game at noon, tickets were cheap, there was no TV and a lot less student apathy. Crowds were better as a result, but still not that great of an overall average attendance, even with really good teams.

BGSUcks has always had a poor fan base, imo. I never remember them having great or even good crowds, unless it's the UT game where nearly half the stadium is UT fans. Toledo's crowd never looks like a high school crowd. The high school games I've attended at bgsuCKS were more full than that picture posted. Didn't the game come down to the final quarter?? Wasn't it a big game?? Weather wasn't that bad for October.

Went to Kzoo for the UT game. All that rain and it looked like more butts in the stands than there is at that game. It's too bad that more people can't experience the fun of a college game live.
