as obnoxious as captain butthurt (panama) and his butthurt brigade (minus pounce....he koo) are i'm pulling for ga state. been through the close losses. hell, going through it again. it sucks. balls.

the problem with pulling for ga state is it would be painful to the most humble, genuinely good bunch of fans i've run across in the ga southern contingent.

if ga southern loses (i don't think they will....i just want them to) i pray that the ghost of erk russell rises and walks down to that little crick on the statesboro campus. bends down at water's edge and scoops some mud twixt his big ole georgia man-paws.

an angel wearing a non-descript dark blue football jersey will appear in statesboro and tell all the faithful to paint a plain blue helmet on the front of their clapboard shacks.

then the ghost of erk russell will hock up some dry spit (it's dry from the pulpwood factories) and mix it with the drying crick mud. then a single tear will gently slide down erk's face like it did on iron eyes cody in the 70's when he cried over pollution. that single tear, holding more restorative, healing power than penicillins efforts will be mixed with the mud/hocker mixture.

then the ghost of erk russell will pass over erry house in statesboro and if a house has the blue helmet painted on it goe (ghost of erk) will press his palm against the helmet and bless the house with 6 (six) holy get after that @sses, one for each national championship.

this will 'help' ease the pain associated with the worst loss in the entire ga southern history.

This game has made me nervous since it was scheduled. Mainly because a few of our internet fans are soooo mouthy about our supposed prowess that when we lose a game, there will be a melt down and plenty of crow to eat on behalf of the smack-talkers.

Ga State has an effective offense that matches up well against Ga Southern - just like NMSU and Idaho. I see Arbuckle burning us on some big plays and having no problem dinking and dunking which will open up some effective rushing.

I think our offense will score, but we need to complete those simple passes to keep the GaSt Defense on their heels.

If both teams play to their ability, GS wins something like 52-34.

GS could easily lose this game. No game on our schedule except Savannah St. has been a gimme. I think the Ga St players will be more fired up for this game than any in the history of their program.

Georgia State has enough talent to pull out a win in some sort of schoolyard run around and chuck it game against someone.

But they are going to be fed slowly into a hand-cranked sausage making machine this time and once your foot gets in there, you pretty much aren't getting out.

We are in agreement, E. Cliff. However, I won't be eating crow since I respect every team in the conference and don't talk smack. I just want this conference to take off like a rocket.

Watching how easily and how repeatedly the USA dLine got to Farvebuckle, I have to think the Southern dLine will have more success against State. I predict many sacks and many INTs.
