I won't mock you. If they run the table, beating Michigan State and the West champ along the way, I think they have a good chance of being in the mix.

Would you put them in over a 1-loss FSU or 1-loss ND?

RE: I'm going to accept everyone mocking me for this prediction
I could see it happening. If they win out they will have wins at Michigan State and presumably Wisconsin in the BIG CCG. As we all know, CFB often comes down to "when" you lose. The formula has traditionally been that early losses are forgiven and those with loses later in the season are punished for it.

I am not an Ohio State fan by any stretch of the imagination, but honestly I think they are a better team with J.T. Barrett at QB than they would have been if Miller were healthy. Their defense is down-right nasty. They are going to continue to have a lot of lop-sided wins now that they are in conference play.

So who do you root for in that ND-FSU game if you're a Big Ten team hoping to get into the playoff?

Depends on who they lose too and when.

If OSU's only loss was to a decent team, right after their all-American QB was lost for the season, the committee will overlook the loss to some extent.

If you're the BIG you hope FSU wins BIG then loses at Louisville.

Maybe, but there may be a ton of 1-loss teams this year. OSU might not have the juice to overtake most of them.

I think the loser of FSU-ND is eliminated. However, if SEC teams keep trading losses, there may only be a single 1 loss SEC team left at the end.

Hell they shouldn't even be ranked above ECU right now.

You aren't the only one. The Buckeyes ARE a better team with Barrett than with Braxton. Braxton more and more was becoming a run first quarterback. He was costing his team more opportunities than he was creating. I would make a bet that the rest of the OSU offense likes Barrett better than Braxton too. They might not say that while Miller is still lurking but I bet they are thinking it. He does a much better job of sharing the ball.

OSU would smoke ECU. VT was Barrett's first game. He isn't the same player now as he was in that game AND VT knew exactly what to do to take advantage of his complete inexperience during that game.

It will depend upon how they look during their wins. Right now OSU is playing in dominant fashion. In that regard they stack up quite well against other 1 loss teams. With conferences like the PAC, SEC and Big 12 not having clear cut hierarchies, there will be plenty more cannibalization going on this year.

OSU continuing with dominating wins will very likely land them a 4th seed in the Playoff.

Notre Dame beats FSU and then loses to Arizona State.

I don't want to see Louisville beat Notre Dame. 07-coffee3

RE: I'm going to accept everyone mocking me for this prediction
I think that assuming that tOSU will beat Sparty in East Lansing is a gross assumption.

However, as a realistic Spartan fan i realize that we could lose any of our upcoming games, especially the tOSU game and possibly even the game with mICHIGAN. I think the chances of SPARTY losing a game are magnified by our inability to compete in the 4th quarter this season. But I think any discussion of tOSU getting into the final four is premature at this point.

Win Lose or Draw I will support any BIG team not named mICHIGAN representing for the BIG.

Go Green!
