No, what's weak is calling people pu##ies for making their plans for an outdoor event based on the weather. Hardcore fans want casual fans to act like hardcore fans. I was at the game Saturday and I brought four other people with me, but I was there because I wanted to be there, not out of some charitable / civic / alumni duty. Others chose not to be there because of the weather - I don't fault them one bit.

We need more fans and fewer meteorologists

Beat SMU impressively and there will be mid-30's for Tulsa at least. People have really underestimated the impact that Fall break had on attendance last Saturday. I know several people that normally go to games that were out of town all week. That, combined with a terrible weather forecast all week, really drove down the attendance.

Too many travelers; not enough fans.

Thank you. Exactly my sentiments as well.

I was at the game with my wife and daughter and our friends and their daughter. We went because we wanted to, not because I felt I owed the team or school something. I have no issue with anyone who chose not to go. Their choice.

Do our fans really expect us to suddenly draw 45K rain or shine after dozens of years of mediocre to outright horrible football? It's going to take a few years of consistent winning to build that type of fanbase. Let's also not forget that we get next to zero attendance help from our opponent's fans....there were maybe 100 Houston fans at the game Saturday night.

We are really blaming Houston fans? Did MTSU bring 14K? And like I said earlier the computer glitch kept a bunch out of that game.

Attendance was really better than I thought it would be given Fall Break and the weather forecast ...I think we would have surpassed 40k without those factors ... Even early on Saturday they were calling for rain throughout the game ... My son and I went, but my wife and daughter stayed home because of the weather forecast ...

Too bad we don't have an opponent this week to snipe at.

This bye week will be really long.

I wonder how many walk ups decided not to go after the ticket window/ computer debacle at the MTSU game ?

I wonder how many walk ups decided not to go when our local weather men, all week, kept predicting strong thunder storms for Saturday night and kept repeating over and over, "if you're planning on going to the Tiger game, be prepared for 100% heavy rain". There were 10 people in my tailgating group that have season tix didn't go due to the weather forecast. Jim Jaggers and Tim Simpson, channel 3, leads the pack in being wrong with their drama queen weather prediction for Saturday night. I was actually happily surprised at the crowd turnout we had, in spite of the weather forecasts.

I was also pleasantly surprised that there were as many people there as there were. Those guys had (and continued up until last night) been predicting near flood type rains for a week. I'm not sure that any look on our coach's face meant that he was mad because of the size of the crowd.

FWIW, we got a commitment from a pretty good center from AL immediately after that game.
