Looks like BSU has promoted the backup QB for our game.

Well this will make them slightly more difficult to prepare for now since we don't have much to go on from Milas, but there's still no reason to change the game plan IMO.

Stack the box, pressure the pass and we should be able to put up enough points to win this game. Their defense is nicked up:

Safety Martez Hester has a nagging lower back injury that makes him doubtful against Western Michigan. Lembo said the medical staff believes it's soft tissue injury, but it's been tightening up and painful. He will not practice Tuesday and the staff is proceeding as if he won't be there.

Linebacker Aaron Taylor had to more back to his old safety position because of depth issues there, but Lembo was hopeful he could move back down into the box. That will likely be determined by the health of Brian Jones, who has missed most of the past two games with a knee injury.

Ball State will be promoting their backup QB to the starter position for our game. He is RFr. I believe, and has not played in any games up to this point. If there's a time for our front 7 to get to the QB, it's now. Make him force throws.

Their defense is also banged up and we will score. Many times.

Sounds accurate.

That said MAC games are always unpredictable. Just when you think the cards are aligned the offense sputters, the defense goes wobbly, and a RS QB who has never played throws for 300 yards and Edwards runs for 160.

I don't expect this, but we've gone to Muncie before thinking we were the favorite and we got rocked. No one thought we'd have a chance against UT, and NIU and BG probably expected easy games. Parity = unpredictability.

Agree with Dip on this about unpredictability in the MAC. I have the same nightmare - an unknown QB lights us up.

However, I've watched BSU several times now and their offense is just plain bad. If they score 4 TDs on our defense, we've taken a step backwards. While Edwards is a load, it is OL problems/inexperience that is the reason for his lack of productivity.

ME TOO.... BUT, I'd be happier with 5 ot 6 straight.

I fear our annual WMU Bronco three steps backwards game... We usually have one EVERY YEAR... and its usually after a tough loss... Here's where I am hoping the new staff keeps us pumped up and moving forward... That in itself will be a victory for me.

It's been a crazy week and haven't been able to keep up on the team, but what's the scoop on injuries as they prepare for BSU?

Haven't heard anything new. Jarvion Franklin looked like he got a little banged up against Toledo. Corey Davis might have a nagging injury, as does Devon Brant.

Other than that, I don't know.


Btw, lines are now showing it at even or WMU as a 1 point favorite. The bettors are rowing the boat.
