RE: Wk 7: Lines in the Sand
There's no way I'd have believed FAU would beat us, and I was equally sure we'd beat New Mexico at home. FIU has looked pretty good the last couple weeks, and so let's just say I'm bracing for a roller coaster ride down the stretch because I really don't know what to expect anymore from our team at this point in the season.

RE: Wk 7: Lines in the Sand
Middle Tennessee @ Marshall: Marshall is on a roll and do not see them slowing down any time soon..
Rice @ Army: Toss up but think Rice can still be a good team
North Texas @ UAB: UAB plays better on the road seems like
FIU @ UTSA: Should be a close game, but UTSA has the home field advantage.
Old Dominion @ UTEP: UTEP in a shootout...

Charlotte @ The Citadel: Just because.

Middle Tennessee @ Marshall - Marshall by 20 even though MT is a good team.

Rice @ Army - Rice defense mixed with some balance on offense gets the win.

North Texas @ UAB - UAB marching towards a bowl game.

FIU @ UTSA - UTSA takes a low scoring game.

Old Dominion @ UTEP - hate picking against the Miners but no passing game to speak of means ODU can crowd the box and stop the run. ODU gets the road win.

Middle Tennessee @ Marshall: I really like MT this year but playing in WV is no easy chore.

Rice @ Army: Rice has this

North Texas @ UAB: I think UAB is the better team and they are at home

FIU @ UTSA: Offensive play calling and not playing best players will spoil the Runner's homecoming. So sad. I penciled this one as an easy win but credit to FIU for playing great ball

Old Dominion @ UTEP: I like UTEP to squeak out a win at home. Long road game for ODU

Oh sorry thought you lost to FIU at home....You played Miss. ST. well on the road....TRoy and A&M I did not include for play......Your players acted like they won the Super Bowl Sat. night so maybe I should say expect a letdown from UAB this week, sorry..

I'm only doing one game this week. You may have already seen the pick.

What can I say? Marshall fans have converted me. I can simply refute the truth no more. They are in a different league than the rest of us. On their way to the playoff... Marshall will score TD's on their first 11 possessions before putting in the scout team who ruins the shutout for them...

UTSA reminds of the 2012 FIU team. Loaded with seniors (30) and bloated with confidence we thought we were going to shock people (the only things shocked were our egos). All the pre-season magazines had us winning the Belt. The expectations were through the roof. Needless to say the season was a complete disappointment and our Coach (the same guy that was either considered for or offered some prime jobs the year before) got fired.

This year we had people saying we would go winless. Most of our fans (me included) thought we were in for an improved but awful year. And here we are with our offense slowly improving and our defense playing well. We played Pitt and Louisville tough and are 2-0 in C-USA.

The lesson learned for me is an old but wise one: You never know what's going to happen until you actually play the games. It's too early for you guys to give up yet. Similarly, it is too early for FIU to think that we are good or even mediocre yet. Too much football to be played. Good luck the following week after you have played and hopefully lost to FIU.
