No team has been eliminated from the Coastal chase. Any lead that any team has now or after this Saturday's games may turn out to be meaningless.

If GT wins the Coastal is over.

They will have a leg up, that is for sure. Don't think they will win though.

I don't think they will beat Miami is what I was saying. IF they do, then they will have a good chance of winning the Coastal.

Having already beaten VT, if GT also beats Miami, that's 2 of their 3 biggest hurdles already (GT does not play FSU in the regular season this year). GT has beaten UNC and Duke each of the last 5 years, and UVa 4 of the last 5. I didn't go back any further.

VT will not lose again until the ACC CG (and maybe not even then?)

All three of those teams are going go lose a minimum of one game prior to the cg

GT will beat Miami by 20. QB Justin Thomas, surprisingly, is more accurate than anything I saw out of Duke's Anthony Boone in the last 3 weeks, and as soon as Miami commits 9 players in the box (somewhere late in the 1st quarter), the chess match is over.

In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll have to resist the temptation to rename this thread, "Georgia Tech and the Coastal Division Title" at around 10:45 on Saturday night.

I couldn't resist the temptation...

Those helmets didn't look that bad tonight. The honeycomb pattern was very subdued. Congrats on tonight's win.

GT still has to beat UVA and Clemson. One loss = OK; two losses and VT could back in.

I wouldn't say the rest of the Coastal has been asked to leave .... but they've certainly been handed their hat.

It is also faculty appreciation day where GT faculty can get stupid cheap tickets. And the GTAA did an e-blast today for family packs at $35/ticket with concession vouchers.

I looked and the upper north deck is still about half empty.

I'd guess the game will end around 50,000 in attendance despite the marketing full court press. Same attendance figure as Georgia Southern (which only hit 50K because Southern brought around 10K fans).

When PJ can't sell it out on a game that decides the division with a full court marketing press ... that tells you how deep his support eroded over the last four years. This is probably the most important game Paul Johnson has had at GT for his future.

The family packs actually sold out the upper north deck to my shock. At BDS, that corner where you see the Miami fans? The wedge in that corner is designated visiting team band all the way up. One to the left and right of that is visiting team (there are NCAA mandates for minimum seating to visiting fans at the lower level). The upper deck corner is also zoned visiting. The section TWO over on the left from the wedge in that corner is Miami fans buying on the secondary market for seats not zoned visitor. The main visitor section is the upper north endzone. It has like 6K+ zoned visitor. And there were almost ZERO Miami fans up there. Clemson and Georgia will bring 10K to BDS. Miami had about 3K. So don't get ahead of yourself. I have stadium panoramas I took while there if you want proof regarding the upper north.

Oh, yeah. Except all those other fans that weren't in white but in orange throughout the stadium. But hey! Miami doesn't travel well, right?

Haha. It's too bad GT never takes that many down to Sun Life. That'd be fun to actually have away crowds for once.

You had 3K. It isn't bad, but don't start acting like you're Notre Dame or something. The upper north -- the main visitor section -- was almost completely devoid of Miami fans. Tune in when Clemson or UGAg play at BDS if you want to see what full visitor sections look like.
