ZBo is the kingpin of Indianapolis weed, remember?
I'm happy they signed Beasley. We needed a small forward who can score.
Anybody else think ZBO will whip Beasleys a$$ if he doesn't act right? Beasley will be a great addition. We should be able to rest Marc and ZBo finally.

How we gonna rest Marc? Beasley is a 3 that can play the 4, not a 4 that can play the 5.

It wouldn't be surprising at all if you considered his competition. Pondexter, Leuer, Stokes, Prince. None of these guys are world beaters. I wouldn't be surprised if Beasley had the best training camp out of that group

Pondexter, Leuer, Stokes and Prince all have guaranteed contracts. Beasley does not.

Not sure what that has to do with anything. If he outplays those guys he will make the team
I think Beasley will make the squad assuming his head is straight. He can play multiple positions was my point and with the interior depth we now have we should be able to rest Marc and ZBo some. This will be important come playoff time imo. UofMark is right, it's a numbers crunch, but I'd hate to see us lose out on a player with Beasleys potential, I'd at least give him a look to start the season. We can always cut him if he is a dud. Seems to me like we've been burnt by teams with great 3's and 4s the last few years.

One of the knocks on Beasley is that he plays zero defense. He might be able to score to help offset the opposing 3 or 4's scoring but dont count on him to be some type of defensive stopper at the 3 or 4.
We would be better off defensively with either QPon or the Gridfather at the three. We dont really have a defensive minded 4 on the roster and adding Beasley does not change that. Kufos and Mark showed they could play together a little last year, I'm thinking if we need defense at the 4 Kufos might be our best option strictly from a defensive standpoint.
Stokes might be the answer defensively but we have not seen him at the NBA level yet. I have no idea what he was like defensively for Tennesse, all I know about him is that he is supposed to be an elite level offensive rebounder.

I disagree. He should know by now that this is probably his last chance. It's a very low risk move for the Grizz since Phoenix will be paying the bulk of his salary. I expect he makes the roster at least for part of the year. It's possible he gets waived later if they need a roster spot in case Prince or Lee is moved.
I hate that we let James Johnson go. He's basically a superior version of what we're hoping for from Beasley or Clark ie. a combo forward who can give you 15-20 minutes a game at the 3/4. Beasley is a better shooter and that's about it.

At this point, Prince is an expiring contract and nothing much more. Trade chip.
Jon Leuer is guaranteed for a million.
If push comes to shove, the team could cut either and not really lose anything.
The team still can have 15 players and stay under the luxury tax line.
If Beasley is right, he plays more than probably Leuer and Prince, and maybe even Pondexter.
Jarnell Stokes is more of an experiment that has a low risk and high reward. He does different stuff than Beasley does (whereas Leuer and Pondexter are wanted for offense) and if he ends up being an all-rookie performer, I'm guessing its because he is taking Kouta's minutes.
