there is probably an obvious answer to this:

why don't they make it a little bigger and put some bleachers in there and play high school football games, the blue gray game, and soccer games in there..

Because it's a "Practice" facility ?

It'll be interesting to see what the final product looks like. Weren't there other architectural renderings that had more brick on the exterior and a lot more glass on the walls making for a much more open look?

I believe there was also talk at one point of including an indoor track. As nice as that would be for the track team, I'm glad this appears to be a football only facility. We don't' have the basketball team sharing workout and practice facilities with other sports and shouldn't make the football program do it either.

the big east was the driver of the indoor track business. thats gone by the wayside now. the big redesign has been to accomodate a dining hall/kitchen for feeding the athletes (not just football but every sport). bringing all the varsity sports to south campus will need a service like that. simple reallocation of resources - indoor track out, food service in.

so, the rumor isn't true that they're taking out the indoor track from the facility to punish the track team cause one of its member flashed the jumbotron camera at last week's football game??????

Nope, cause in a couple of years we'll be drawing 50,000 to the Liberty Bowl every game.

Man I hope! And hopefully we can do it without having to do $5 tickets. Btw, is the rib contest happening again for the spring game?

RE: Indoor Practice Facility - Fleming & Associates design
Last I heard from someone in TSF was groundbreaking sometime in the Spring. Still haven't surpassed the amount of money needed to be able to begin cinstruction and issue bonds for the remainder of the project. It's disappointing that the groundbreaking has been pushed back so many times but not surprising considering the dismal state of our program when Fuente was hired.

The initial campaign for this was launched in what 2010? With a 2 year target for fundraising before groundbreaking??
