Tommy Lee Out For The Year
Per Rod Carey on Coach's Show at Fatty's.
Expected that he can return next year.

Damn, what happened?

Assuming he can redshirt though, this might be a blessing in disguise.

Gonna need one of Turner/Beebe/Saffold to step up playing inside.

Our team is going to be great in '15 as our young QBs and DBs mature. It was going to be great anyway but having Tommylee back will be a wonderful bonus.

Did not elaborate even when Baker asked.
Daniels still expected to be back sometime.
Also said that Stingley was ok but still needed reps.

It has to be some sort of upper body injury. He looked fine walking around the sideline during the UNLV game.

I wish Brinlee would have stuck around. He would be getting his chance now with TLL and Beebe out.

RE: Tommy Lee Out For The Year
I'd never say this is good news, but this is going to give Turner the opportunity to grow into the #2 role. Build some confidence and next year Turner/Lewis (assuming he gets the redshirt) will be a dynamic duo.

Hopefully the QB battle is sorted out by then.05-stirthepot

They've had some nice little flashes thus far.

How are they sure that he'll be back?

I know he didn't take his red-shirt yet...but he's played this year. Is it easy to get a medical waiver when you haven't yet taken your red-shirt year? Or am I missing something?

Saffold is the only one I've seen with the explosiveness as TL. Got to get that kid in the game more.

I think it's easier when you haven't already redshirted since you haven't been on campus as long. He's also missed quite a bit of time in previous seasons. I know he hasn't eclipsed the 30% of snaps this year.

These can be tricky to get, but I'd say he would probably have an easier time than a lot of players.

He will get the redshirt as he only played in 2 games and has never redshirted before. It's the same situation as PJ Fleck in 2002. Fleck was bothered by a hamstring injury early that year. In the Wisconsin game he was only used to fair catch punts. After the game, it was announced he was out for the year. He played as a true freshman, never redshirted prior to that and so got the redshirt his senior year in 2002 and played again in 2003.
