Significantly more than 18 wins as well.

Mississippi and Moo alone equal 20 wins.
Alabama 1
Arkansas 3
Auburn 2
Florida 1
Florida State 7
GA Tech 1
Kansas State 1
Louisville 19
Miami 1
Mizzou 1
South Carolina 2
Southern Cal 1
Tennessee 1
Vanderbilt 5
VA Tech 3
Wake Forest 2

71 wins over current cartel schools. Yes, some of them occurred a while ago when schools were competing at different levels...a bone for the Memphis haters...and yes Memphis has lost a lot of games to current cartel schools...a lot of them when Memphis was competing at a lower level...but the bottom line is...

Not so bad.

I see...GA mentioned 18 schools...the other one turned that into 18 wins in an effort to diminish.

Sorry.

I know what you mean..It is surprising...I have decided they are having many 'feckless' moments. Some day they might understand that. lol. By then we will have moved on, though.

Go Tigers. Kick the feckless butts of MTSU! 04-cheers I tire of listening to their fans.

I never even heard of the school until like Facebook was invented. And I lived in Tenn. for six years. Tennessee State (Richard Dent yeah) UT Martin, etc etc. Middle Tennessee? Why the hell didn't they name that Junior college like Central Tennessee or something? "Just Left of the Middle of Tennessee State University". JLMTSU for short. Gimme a break.

Way back in 1912, the Tennessee gov't decided the state needed public schools of higher education to train teachers. They created East TN State Normal School, Middle TN State Normal School, and West TN State Normal School ("Normal School" being the term for a school which trains teachers.) I don't recall if it was at that same time or a couple of years later that they also created the Tennessee State Agricultural and Industrial School for Negroes (or "Agricultural" and something).

So you've heard of Tennessee State and West Tennessee State, but apparently your six whole years living in Tenn. did not allow you to be exposed to other aspects of the state culture, such as the Grand Divisions.

Sorry I guess not. Interesting though.

Wait, I thought Memphis was in the Big East??

Yes, MEMPHIS was invited to the Big East but it blew up in the last round of conference shuffling. So the TIGERS ended up in the American, along with Connecticut, Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, Temple, etc.

Of course, you know this and are being snarky and sarcastic on this TIGER board.

The really key point, Festus, is that MEMPHIS is *not* in the CUSA dumpster fire with Western Kentucky, North Texas, UNCC, Louisiana Tech, and Middle Tennessee. Your school is where they belong, in a dead end conference.

On Nov. 1, BYU comes to Middle Tennessee State. I can't decide-root for BYU to give them a beatdown (My Heart) or for MTSU to beat them and make our win look even better (My Head).

Oh Heck-Go Cougars!

1 Last night was great. The team played well. The team played inspired. I could point out some negatives like wasted field position. But, that is such a minor point. Our men came to play and won impressively. they gave Tiger Nation a nice gift. Tiger nation (the crowd) looked and sounded great on ESPN3.

2 Many disagree with me. I would like to continue this series. Stockstill will continue to have quality teams. We will win more vs MTSU during the Fuente era. ( I hope the Fuente era lasts a long time). The series is good for both teams.

Would rather play Southern Miss than Middle...but have no real issues with Middle as a non conference game.

RE: Column from Murfreesboro paper
Future TIGER OOC schedule should be composed along this format (assuming 4 OOC games):
1 game against P5 upper echelon team on H&H deal (ex - UCLA, Missouri, Va Tech)
1 game against P5 lower echelon team on H&H deal (ex - Kentucky, Wake Forest, Kansas)
1 game against G5 opponent *usually* H&H deal but could arrange 2-1 for more home games if possible (ex - BGU, So Miss, Boise St)
1 game against in state team as buy game (Tenn Tech, UT Chat, UT Martin, Austin Peay)

MEMPHIS should *NEVER* be a teams buy game with one notable exception - Notre Dame. That is a NBC network game and worth the national exposure. Plus the $750,000 payout from the Irish is cool. This includes if Notre Dame wanted to play this game in Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, etc.

I live in MID TN. Fact ... there are a LOT of Tiger fans in this area. Alum and ex Memphians ... who get to go see games in Mufreesboro. There may be ten fans / alum in Southern Miss. If we dump MTSU ... then let's do a new H & H with Vandy. They love to recruit Memphis ... and there's always plenty of seats at their stadium.07-coffee3

Funny how when you read the account of the 'fallen enemy' you can feel their pain.

That scoop/return Bobby McCain made was one of the smoothest things I've ever seen.

Lots of sour grapes their.

Basketball school.
Memphis fans booed a Rudy Gay.
Middle still dominated.

See you guys..congratulations on playing Memphis during one of our all time worst half decade stretches. Over now. The highlight of Middle's football existence was going 5-2 with Memphis. Kudos.

Didn't understand that angle from MTSU fans. Bragging about beating Memphis during the porter years is like bragging about winning a foot race against a special needs kid with his shoes tied together.
