Halftime show yesterday
Cuts off the combined bands at the end, but still a good video. Yes, they really Tootsie Rolled.

Thanks for sharing... The band sounded GREAT! That's what I hate about televised games: they don't show the halftime show or band.

That's one of the reasons I like A&M. That's UAB's band, A&M's, and about a hundred high school honor band kids. About 500 all told.

It was very cool.

I was watching the replay of some HBC game last night & the whole halftime was the bands no E$PN pundits touting the latest greatest to play the game for Heisman - refreshing change. I think it was Jackson St vs Tenn St at Liberty Bowl. Maybe we should add them into the FCS mix for us to play in the future.

Thanks for sharing. I was at the kid zone with my 7 year old so I didn't get to see it.

Probably a lot of factors, (better product on the field, increased attendance, etc) but I believe A&M's band and the fans' reaction to it helped with the atmosphere yesterday. One of the most fun UAB games I've been to in a LONG time. The reaction from A&M fans around me to UAB band's "Tootsie Roll" was priceless.

Great show all the way around! I was on Twitter and it seems like some friendships and bonds were made between members of the UAB and AAMU bands this weekend. Thats a great thing.04-bow

It was absolutely outstanding to see it in person. Loved it when the bands played together. That's what it's all about right there.

I really didn't have any bad vibes about anything concerning A&M.

Along with Jax State (normally) and Samford, all 3 are easy to follow & pull for.

I loved it and thought the combined effort showed great class and teamwork. A&M delivered and UAB was not going to be outshined. Closing was great, I really enjoyed it.

Jackson State and Southern are hands down the two best bands in the SWAC and they’re probably the two best HBCU bands overall. Both schools also have a great football tradition and amazing fan bases as well. They are the BIGGEST home game of the year for whoever they're playing in the SWAC. We sold out our stadium for the Southern game last year! JSU comes in November and we're expecting another sellout then also. AAMU's band is ok, and ASU's band is okay but the BIG talk of the SWAC every year as far as marching bands are the Human Jukebox(SU) and The Sonic Boom if the South(JSU).

Yup to the above. But back in the day (late 80's and early 90's) ASU use to bring it hard. And the ASU Stingettes are still one of the best HBCU dance teams today as witness by their participation in Robin Thicke video "Give It To U!"

I have no idea what I'm looking at as far as the dancing but the Stingettes are very appealing to the eye if you know what I mean.04-rock My wife was actually a Dancing Diva at AAMU so she's not the biggest fan of the Stingettes but I sure am! lol01-ncaabbs
