I think the current CUSA line up has lots of growth potential. Not sure AAC is going to be ranked that far ahead of CUSA for many more seasons, unless they win some statement games.
regardless of any short term initial success or in future, it shouldn't matter which g5 conference excels.....with the p5 expediting the smelting process of the iron fist - the ncaa (their ore was/is nothing but a figment of the imagination anyway), the end result could potentially match the earning power of the NFL....and those p5 greedy bastards know this....
there is a reason the g5 is being branded with the submissive scarlet alpha/numeric tag
I seriously believe it will only be a ~decade before we see that control fully take effect....it all depends how long the court battles last....the p5 is 9/10 of the law now....it's nothing more than defining what that means moving forward in earning power....
While ESPN brought exposure to college football not imagined until the 1990's they have ruined it with the influx of money. At some point the players will start legally getting paid, maybe as much as the professors at the universities they play at. This is wrong. College football needs to remain an amateur sport and the race for higher revenues stopped.
this is the 'why' in the current state....the future state is a different prescription of acceptance....
from a personal level of relativity.....
I gave up MLB and was born in StL.........
when the players struck in 1981, I was truthfully educated how greed really works (from a business, player, and fan perspective)
it was then that all the learned sociological bs finally nutted me out....
I started showing interest 20+ years later when the owners/selig finally started to sweep up most of the bs and return the GAME to the ones that filled their pockets....
does the bs still exist.....of course it does....but two sides finally got together and decided that shared revenue was better than no revenue....and it continually moves forward with a governing body that has regained credibility
college athletics is an entire other animal.....you are right that it is "wrong" based on history.....the same kind of schmucks are running this into the ground.....
I already lived through this story.....it's not worth an encore.....and it is painful to watch the last bit of amateur sportsmen and attached ethics fly away into the nest of haves vs have nots....perception is fully recognized when this becomes defined
I'm only one guy.....but so is every season ticket holder, g5 alum, cable/sat subscriber, fair weather fan.....
I'll be dead before this shite becomes applicable in my world moving forward....
I've said it before many times in previous posts.....you won't hear from me again after this year (just needed this masochistic year to suffer through the meltdown)....I refuse to support this bullying and the biatchfest that ensues from the consumer....it's tiresome
the lines have been drawn....they are invisible only with a numbing agent at this point....the numbing agent is not acceptable in a figurative sense or my cents....
