Why does the author's name (Chuck Landon) ring a bell?

FIU needs to clean house. Gut the program. It will come back in no time if you do it right. Tons of talent in S. FL.

RE: FIU Article
sounds like the author of this piece is a little butt hurt about his friend being left out in the cold. I know there is a thread somewhere here about the credentials, but I agree with FIU.

UTEP had one of those type of writers several years back and UTEP basically forced the times to move him. First it started with the coaches not allowing him any access, then he tried to get info from the coaching staffs wives, and they gave him nothing. It go so bad that the writer ended up doing an expose on the urinals at sun bowl stadium.

RE: FIU Article
There aren't many Marshall fans who care about Chuck Landon. For a beat writer, he can usually be counted on for multiple negative articles about Marshall over the course of a year. Best thing to do is to ignore anything he writes, which I do.

If memory serves, and some other Herd fans can help me. Wasn't Landon excluded from MU press conferences last season for a time? If I'm right about that, and I think I am, that is undoubtedly the real source of Landon's nose being stuck in the middle of this, where it doesn't belong.

As stated earlier, there are very few people in Huntington that actually like Landon.

Most of us think he's a no-talent hack.

Actually, the TWO threads that were similar were moved to the Smack Board. You are frustrated with the wrong person...

On again, off again, on again.....Those two are worse than a couple of lovers. Does this mean FIU throttles Wagner this weekend?

As he stated in his intro: its his opinion. There is a reason why opinions are not very valuable - everyone has one.

We got issues though, DJN is like a the opposite sex - can never really please them.

Plus - the Herald's love is the school in the Gables

FIU fired a coach who took them to two straight bowl games and a conference championship because he ONE bad year. FIU needs a new athletic director and they deserve all the criticism they get.

Imagine UTSA winnning 3 games this year with their Senior laden squad. That's how poorly FIU played the year after the two bowls with 20 of 22 returning starters.

Not saying the firing was right or wrong, just trying to add some perspective.

Wasn't there also an assault involved?

No. There was a stabbing of one of the front line running backs by a wannabe football player over a girl and a golf cart or something (very senseless) in front of the dorms late one night but that had nothing, what so ever, to do with the coaching situation.

It was more about the AD wanting to replace one of the coordinators and MC refusing to do so; from what I recall. There were also concerns over MC game management. I think having T.Y. around covered up a bunch of coaching flaws.

This. So much of this. I honestly don't think you guys realize the state Cristobal left our program in. There was no excuse for him to only win 3 games in his final season. Furthermore, if he would have returned to coach the following season we probably would have only won 3 games again, if that. We had no one left on the team.
