I'm know UCF fan, but you say if almost like they didn't show up. Losing on a last second field goal is nothing to sneeze at.

Obviously, the game came down to the last second, so it wasn't a bad showing by UCF.

As a USF fan, I'm just very happy UCF didn't win another razor-close game they deserved to lose, like they did many times last season. Penn State dominated this game.

That was a good and fun game, but PSU is not your Father's Penn State. UCF was the better team talent wise. Houston and UCF have let the AAC down in the opening weekend. I would never have thought Temple would be the biggest AAC win this weekend so far. Really need SMU to surprise Baylor otherwise the new hash tag needs to be #AmericanFalling.

Well-fought game by both teams. We know our starting QB finally, so that's a positive...

I hope USF gets demolished.

These games the first few weeks are really important, because they are mostly OOC and hence establish the strength of a conference, until the last couple weeks of the season when we get the OOC rivalry games.

Games won OOC in August/September can impact your conference and conference flag-bearer's computer rankings 3 months later, and the CFP committee will surely look at that even though Sagarin ratings and the like are no longer formally part of the process.

I don't know about that. They were very hard to watch defensively once the quarterback changed. Hack's amazing...that "offensive line" of his...they need to catch up and fast. With those kind of passing numbers, it shouldn't have been that close.

Dude, that's bad Karma. UCF didn't embarass themselves.

Lets be clear, there are teams I love to watch lose. But I would savor stuff like this in silence. But its not like UCF was upset in a shocker. And you're a fan of a AAC school right? Why would you root for UCF to lose in a non-conference game?

That guy...wow. You can definitely run away with the AAC if you keep that guy at the spot.

Because he has a bit of old school to him. Back in the day a heated rivalry means more than conference love. We are talking about a USF fan wanting to watch UCF lose no matter what.

Ask a Michigan fan if they want Ohio State to win against Navy. Ask an Ohio State fan if they want Michigan to get embarrassed again at home against App State.

You don't ALWAYS support a fellow conference team in an OOC game.

For me, the USF - UCF rivalry angle far and away trumps the "a UCF win is good for us because it's good for the AAC angle".

I always want UCF to lose, period*. 07-coffee3

* Actually, there could be theoretical exceptions, like if say UCF beating Houston would mean USF wins the conference and goes to an Access bowl. But absent that ...

I admit that new QB looked good, almost like a miniature Jameis Winston. That could be bad news for us down the road but for now, I'm happy celebrating your defeat. 02-13-banana

RE: UCF beaten by Penn State !!!
UCF didn't embarrass themselves, at all. To suggest that is ridiculous. This was a hard fought game. The interior play was smash mouth the whole day, and the secondary, did some very nice things against the PS QB. And, like other's have said, Holcombe looks like a winner at QB. He did a masterful job towards the end. I know there is no such thing as a moral victory, but UCF looked good, and will only improve as the season wears on. If I was in the AAC, I sure wouldn't look past them (and I doubt anyone will.)

With the trip and the BIG opponent, this will be a memorable game for the Knights. Congratulations on a solid effort. Sorry it didn't result in a win.

I get that. But USF needs UCF to hold up the conference. His choice. Still think its' bad karma.

Its not like UCF lost to McNeese State by 30 points at home. They lost to Penn State by 2 at the last second on national television. Not much shame in that.

If UCF losing to Penn State on the last play of the game is smack worthy, then that means that UCF is really P5 material.

Just my $0.02
