“Gentle Giant” Mike Brown Liked Drugs, Ho’s, Killas, and Murders!
So much for Mike Brown being the “Gentle Giant.” With each passing day, more information is uncovered about his “thug lifestyle.” While none of these things single-handedly justify shooting somebody, the compounding facts and evidence revealing the true character of Mike Brown lend much more validity to Officer Darren Wilson’s account of the events.

Believe it or not I'm relatively neutral on this subject but I have to say that this scenario has reared it's head in reverse many, many times. Often times when a white person goes missing, especially an attractive white woman/girl, they are portrayed to be as innocent as a child when they may have their own warts as we may be seeing with Mike Brown. That and the fact that other groups don't get nearly as much coverage when someone goes missing who isn't famous (constant cable news coverage? Forget about it).
It's just like the OJ trial. It would appear at a casual glance to most reasonable observers that he got away with murder but the fact is that historically there have been far more (probably on a ratio of at least 1000:1) cases of a white getting away with a murder of a black or a black being falsely accused and convicted versus what happened with OJ. Yet there was exponential outrage among whites when he was acquitted, that one single black man slipped through the cracks of justice apparently.
I'm just saying, remembering injustices like this is why blacks tend to [over?]react when an incident like this happens. There's a long history of injustice in this country, even if now days some overreact to everything.

It's not black vs. white. It's rich vs. poor. If OJ was a bus driver. He would be forever known as Orenthal the bus driven murderer.
That's the point the race hustlers like Okla Dixie and Al Sharpton don't get. It has absolutely nothing to do with race. It's power vs oppressed. It just so happens that a lot of poor people are black. That's only a correlation. Money is the truest indicator of how the judicial system will treat you.

Maybe in modern times but throughout history, that simply has not been the case and many powerful figures, both in governmental/policing and the media, still show their biases.

I don't really see the connection between missing children, that have been abducted and did not cause a conflict, versus people attacking the police or engaged in combat/fights. If a child is missing, regardless of race, no one is digging into their past to paint a bad picture. Most people's heart goes out to the family and it is their hope they are found.
As to race, there has been a long history of injustice in this country, but since about 1980, it been dissipating every year. The simple truth is that there isn't some huge amount of White on Black crime in this country. And, where it exists, it is usually dealt with by the criminal justice system (like James Byrd). The larger truth is that the great majority of White people are killed by White people and the same for Blacks. The problem, generally, is that many Black people live in poor communities that are also high crime areas. These areas are the focus of police forces and result in a high number of Blacks in jail/prison, rightfully so. The excuse is some unjust system that Blacks are railroaded through. The truth is that 90-95% of these cases are pretty straightforward and are usually plead out.
People overreact thanks to the race baiters. They are constantly looking for situations in which pour gasoline on a fire...and, sometimes even start the fire themselves. They look for situations in which to agitate people and later try to mobilize them to vote (it's textbook). While there may be some grievances against the Ferguson PD, the police didn't cause Mike Brown to do the things that he did. And, looting and rioting is not the answer. People can protest to voice their complaints about fairness, but they must also not interfere by creating an atmosphere where people are afraid to come forward. Sometimes the truth is hard to take, but that should be the justice folks should be seeking.

My point on the comparison is that the worst is generally assumed about black people while the best is assumed about whites (and I'm definitely generalizing there). And I'm not denying what you said, however there are still plenty of people who remember, have mental scars and teach/instill certain values in their children because of what happened in the past.
Also, a lot of people plea bargain because they don't they don't have access to competent defense (not my words but that of my criminal justice professor). Not trying to make excuses here so much as play the voice of reason.

Do you have something to back up that 1000:1 1 number?

Now lets not forget the other side which celebrated that "they won"..

(In regard to the first quote)
I don't but honestly, pick up a history book. Whether it was slave masters unjustly killing/overworking their slaves, a Jim Crow and/or biased justice system, or a racially/socioeconomically biased jury among others, it's clear that blacks got an unfair shake and it has been RARE that a black person has gotten away with anything against a white person, which (presuming he was guilty) makes the OJ case that monumental.
(part 2)
I never said blacks didn't but it was in response to how many times the system did us wrong. The OJ arrest and trial all culminated less than five years after the Rodney King beating, which sparked the LA riots after the officers' acquittal. Again, not necessarily justified but it can be understood.
(part 3)
Again, I never said it wasn't, just playing the voice of reason. And it was the harsh system of apartheid that created many of these harshly racist blacks we see today. It doesn't excuse it but to pretend the bitterness created would go away after two generations or so is not realistic.

This is pretty true in my opinion. I can also understand how a white guy wouldn't necessarily get that. We look through different perspectives.

There has not been a "slave master" in this nation for about six generations.
Jim Crow was done away with nearly two generations ago.
Those two things can never be sufficiently atoned for any more than sending a murderer to jail sufficiently makes it up to the victims family. At some point in time you accept the terrible things that happened in history as just that... history.
So long as we continue to blame present problems on people who have turned to dust we are never going to "move forward".
And I would not say that getting away with it is "RARE"... A lot of the thugs playing the knockout game are never caught.
