About the same as USA or Troy getting Alabama or Auburn.
REALLY... Huh...
We've had NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER getting them to schedule us!
Well... perhaps it takes legitimacy!
Let's see how that works now that you're FBS
Both teams moved their games up after GaSo announced for FBS.....coincidence?

She's smart, she's getting 9 FCS games on the schedule before they shut the gate.
If you think Debbie Yow is a "smart" AD, that says way more about you than her.
Maryland didn't want to go to the BIG, but they had to in order to fix the financial ruin she left them in.

Not really, that Tech game has been moved three times already. UGA plays us every four years, it's an Erk thing. LSU and WVU have also signed on.

It's always fun when you get a p5 on the schedule. Hopefully their new AD has some connections and use the stadium and Atlanta location to bring in bigger schools. If/when gast starts winning they will be in a great location to keep momentum and grow quickly.

I'll be curious to see if the UGA every four years thing holds up. I know Eagle fans will melt down if we manage to pull one out in the Dome this year, but I can't imagine the QQ that will occur if you were to top the Dogs in Athens.

NC State is still coming to Mobile next year, but we won't open the season with them. We moved the game at their request so that they could schedule another game. We now play them September 26.

I don't think it would change much. Like Michigan with App St., they will just write it off as a fluke and try to destroy them the next time. The thing with Florida (whether they will admit it or not) is the fact that they got beat by a lower classified team.

Please note, there is no firm fact about a buyout. Most pack fans THINK that will likely happen since we typically have 7 homes games a year. Since 2004 NCSU has averaged 7 home games. There were two times they played 6 home games, one had 2 away games and the other was a neutral site game. The following year was 8 home games. I doubt NCSU will ever see 8 home games again. One of three things will happen, the USA game will be bought out, requested to move out the date or NCSU will play there. Logically, the wise thing would be for ODU to move their game out to the 2020 season when they plan to have the stadium expanded, but I don't see that one happening. You need to realize it was the previous AD that signed the USA game, so that will be the likely reason used for that buyout. That NCSU schedules for 7 home games a season, thus they needed to move or buy the game out. Personally, I think USA will be bought out and the return game to Troy will be moved to 2020 since NCSU is to play at ND and Troy in 2017. I think the Troy game will happen because the USA will probably be the last acceptable buy out game without impacting future scheduling. Just my opinion, but I keep thinking the USA slot will be offered to Charlotte for a single home game for the 2015 season. Just speculation.
Side note, I loved when I visited Mobile and think that would be a great away game. So either way, I will be happy with what was decided.
Finally, it is not uncommon for games to move more than once. Just from NCSU, I remember South Carolina requested to move a return game a couple of times, I think it ended up be 10 years later before it was returned. I believe NCSU did the same with UCONN before we played up there. Schools have done these things for years.

The NC State @ USA game was recently moved from September 5 to September 26 to accommodate NC State scheduling. It would make sense that instead of rescheduling NC State would have canceled the game, if that is their intention.

There are a few Mobile connections over at NC State. Its a bit late in the game to move this game. I think they just move forward with the game. On another note, the impact of Ga Tech being in Atlanta and Georgia in Athens does remove some of the appeal of playing at Georgia State. Many teams in the ACC and SEC get games close enough to Atlanta for recruiting purposes. Obviously there are other considerations, but that is one reason why Georgia State's location might not be so useful to many P5 teams as a draw for playing an away game there.

ODU OR USA will be bought out. There is no way that NC State plays road games against both a SBC school and a CUSA school in the same season.

I've been peeking at their boards periodically for the last few weeks to check in on their prediction threads for our game and there have been A LOT of complaints by their fans about scheduling "cupcakes" and how a lot of people are tired of it and are no longer buying season tickets. Then they add you... I'm sure this didn't go over well for their fans.
Wish you guys the best of luck against them though.

I would advise feeling comfortable when Charlotte schedules their last game for 2015. In addition, the 6 other CUSA schools, 3 MAC schools & Army that still need a 2015 game. I think most of these schools would jump at the single payday for the away game.

I don't understand the insistence that it's an Erk thing, since we played once in 92 and didn't again until 2000. It's been a 4 year cycle since then but I think that was more of Mark Richt seeing it as a convenient arrangement for them. It worked really well for them in 2012 as we were a perfect preparation for them the week before the GT game. it looks like they were attempting to do the same thing next year but we changed offenses.
The next game was supposed to be 2016 but has been moved up to 2015. I don't know that there's a discussion for another game after that at this time. GT was scheduled because PJ wanted to prove a point or something, I don't imagine we'll be playing them again anytime soon.
