Might end up staying home & going to UM.
No telling what will happen.

Go to Memphis. Everyone I know who went to a school that wasn't their childhood school eventually converted (except a few lameos who didn't get into their school of choice but kept supporting it).

I know most people stick w/ their undergrad for sports (if applicable) but I even know an Auburn alumn who converted into an Alabama fan in grad school.

This is why I don't really like it when people start rooting for colleges when they're young. People who are interested in college sports SHOULD root for their alma mater (where applicable.) But I've met so many people that stick with their childhood team, even when that team is in direct competition with their Alma Mater.

I have three degrees and never pondered another AAC school. If I were to get another degree, I don't know if an AAC school would be in my Top 10, but if AAC were my only option - other than UC - I'd consider SMU, Tulane, UCF, USF, and UConn, but not necessarily in that order.

I'm a lawyer in NC now. Temple Law's satellite law school at TUJ campus in Tokyo is the only ABA accredited law school in Asia (at least it was in '10). I only lived in Tokyo for 5 months (my last semester of law school). My actual JD degree is from Loyola NO and all 12 of my credit hours from Temple transferred over for that degree. I had already taken all of the required coursework at Loyola so the Japanese law courses were electives.

Interestingly, Louisiana is the only state in the Union that is on the civil law system, civil/Napoleonic codes (because of their French heritage). The rest of our country is on the British common law system. At Loyola, we had the option to learn both systems of law, which I did. Much of the rest of the world operates on the civil codes so this opened up the door for me to take classes at affiliate institutions in Costa Rica, Budapest, and Vienna and to take part in a seminar tour in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Since Japan is also a civil law nation, it helped with my transition to Temple University Japan as well.
I'm a fellow Loyola Law School graduate. Went to 4 years of night school there right around when I turned 30. For the night school, civil law was the only option.

I'm out in Lakeland for the foreseeable future. Wish it was closer to Orlando, I wouldn't mind a commute but it's just far enough away to become more than inconvenient.

With the exception of Tulane, I never considered other AAC schools a few years back due to distance or unfamiliarity. Knowing what I do now (and seeing how far some schools have evolved), I would also add UCF and USF to my list alongside Tulane.

In the end, I just really liked the self-contained rural feel of the campus in Storrs. Plus, I always followed UConn hoop as a kid and I really wanted to be a part of it. Storrs bounced right into my heart!

Cool! I had a great experience in NOLA & specifically at Loyola other than the fact that I was the only ECU grad and I had to put up with about 4 or 5 UNC alums when I was going there. Luckily, we beat the tar heels when I was a 1L back in '07. I had a great time watching that game down at Cooter Brown's. Man I miss the Crescent City.

What do you plan on majoring in? If it's anything Tulsa is good at I would certainly take the Tulsa education over Memphis because it's worth more. Would you get a full ride to Memphis as well? (P.S. Hope you get to be a Hurricane)

Im iffy on what to major in at the moment & i'd have to pay full price for Memphis. There is only 3 D1 schools that are in the program. Tulsa, Davidson, & Richmond. I'd only consider Tulsa. Out of state tuition is so high & I really want to leave for college. At TU I would be going to a nice privet school not at home & on top of that it would be cheaper than going to an instate school. Sounds like a win win to me. I just don't know if i'd like how small it is.

Are you leaning to any particular program (I mean business engineering arts and sciences etc? )

Go to Memphis. Everyone I know who went to a school that wasn't their childhood school eventually converted (except a few lameos who didn't get into their school of choice but kept supporting it).

I understand college isn't about sports its about education, but I love football and Memphis is just eh. Iv been to plenty of UM games and enjoy them, but even after going to an Ole Miss game the atmosphere and adrenaline rush you get at a "P5" school is just amazing. & im not even a fan of ole miss.

You'll be singing Rocky Top in no time. Either way I'm sure you'll get a great education. On the other hand, you get more basketball home games at Memphis. Plus you can road trip to Greenville.04-cheers

Try ECU. Our out-of-state tuition is better than many school's in-state from what I hear. Otherwise, go with your heart.

I just might wear some nasty orange 03-puke for the price tag.. A few other colleges that iv been considering like Mizzou, UGA & Ole Miss would put me in debt forever because of the out of state tuition.

You should do fine in either of those at TU. I actually have a TU friend who's pre-law working as a senate aid right now. If you can get into TU free I would definitely take it over paying anywhere else. I mean that's roughly a 35K education you're getting for free. (That's before room and board and it will probably be around 40K before you get out.) come on a visit here, check it out.

If you don't know what you want to major in, declare your sophomore year after you take some general ed classes freshman year. I knew I could do whatever I wanted for undergrad b/c it wasn't the end of the road for me. Didn't know I'd take to Geography/Earth Sciences/Environmental sciences/whatever you want to call it so well. If you're only going to do an undergrad in Psych, go to TU for free.
