a) we have WAY too many state universities in this conference and
b) I think most Bobcat fans dislike that notion.

I have no problem with Appy - I heard that was popular with App folks in the 60s - but a guy on my local sports talk station always refers to us as "Appy State" and for some reason that really bothers me.

I have no idea why, but I don't like it either. I mean, it's a University not a child or small dog.

Ga. Southern and Ga. State seem to have basically adopted the GSU for Ga. State and GS for Ga. Southern. That works fine for me.

None of the ones listed for the Ragin Cajuns is acceptable as you'd be hard pressed to find any Cajun fan that uses any of those. Call us Louisiana. That's our brand. If you can't. Then call us Cajuns.
